Busy Busy

It feels like I haven't blogged in ages, but this whole week has passed in a bit of a blur. On Monday night I was over at Ellon, demonstrating the Promarkers for the Ellon Craft Group which was great fun, I hope I managed to pass on some tips. And I learned something too - one lady asked me which colours I would use to do red hair, you know, like Rihanna's red hair. So I tried that out and wow, I was impressed - so I promised I would make that image up into a card for the FB group so watch this space...

I was also asked to make 3 unisex baby cards by one of the other mums at school, well I went one better than that for her, I decided to make 3 baby boy and 3 baby girl cards for her, and she can give me back the ones she doesn't use. I have made little differences to each of the 6 cards so that they are all unique...

Image: LOTV coloured with promarkers, all cardstock is core'dinations, greeting is LOTV, I have used MS Valentine Lace border punch, Tim Holtz rosette flower die, circle and circle scallop nesties and embossing folders, ribbon is from stash.

Yesterday was the 40th birthday of my friend Mar, so I can't share her card with you yet until I hear she has definitely received it. But I know she received the lilies and 40th birthday balloon I sent her. Now I do know that white lilies are considered to be funeral flowers, but they are also Mar's favourites. So I ordered the flowers, with a vase on Interflora but it was made very clear that they were for a birthday - there is a section where you have to state what occasion the flowers are for, my card said "Happy 40th Birthday", the balloon had "40th birthday" and yet the florist still saw fit to tie a "thinking of you" ribbon around the flowers!! am pretty miffed about it.

Anyway, what else have I been up to?? well I'll share some more tomorrow as I'm probably not going to get much peace for the next week - it's half term this weekend and then the kids have 2 in-service days, so they're not back at school again until next Thursday. It wouldn't have been so bad, as Graham should've been home, but right on cue he was asked to do an extra week offshore so he left this morning - can't really turn our noses up at an extra week of offshore money, but it means my poor mum has been roped into babysitting on Saturday while I do 2 classes at the Papeterie on Saturday.

See you tomorrow...

Had a fab time on Monday night Debs. Your demos were great. Have had a little play with your tips on colours though I think I need a bit more practice. Thanks for coming out to Ellon to see us all. xx

What adorable cards! I love the embossed papers and that rosette. It's awesome!

Yikes, that florist made a mistake. But at least you'll have something to laugh about in a couple of years. ;)

Think you should mention to the florist your end about the ribbon being ainappropriate. they should refund you something! Anyhow love the butterflies on the baby cards & those rosette flowers are absolutely brilliant. Take care of yourself midst the busyness.
