Christmas Cards

Oh My Goodness, where has December gone?
The kids break up on Friday for the holidays, and thankfully I've not got much left to do/buy/organise/wrap etc, just need to have the big clean and keep the washing up to date and hopefully we're all set.
I'd like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that I won't be sending Christmas Cards this year, all the ones I've made are pretty much on display at The Papeterie, and I've been so busy with other work that I haven't had any time to make some. I also feel it would be a bit of a cop out if I sent shop-bought cards, so this year I've decided to make a donation in lieu to Mrs Murray's Cat & Dog Home in Aberdeen.
But I did have a couple of commissions to make for one of the other mums at school, giving you a wee bloggy wave Lindsay :)
She wanted me to make cards for her 2 best friends and their families, so here's the first one...
The tag is removable (see bottom photo), here's a better pic to show all the glamour dust...

This pic shows the greeting tag removed...

Materials list:
Henry in Christmas Bauble digi stamp from Whiff of Joy
printed onto Diamond White cardstock from The Papeterie
Coloured with Promarkers: Umber, Burgundy, Crimson, Cardinal Red, Burnt Orange, Coral, Sunkissed Pink and Flexmarkers: Amaranth Red, Blue Grey 4, 3, 2, 1
Kraft tag diecut using Tim Holtz Tag & Tie Alterations die and stamped with Hero Arts CL630 Miracle of the Holidays stamp set
red lacquer and white cardstock from The Papeterie
White cardstock embossed with Spellbinders Holiday Magic M-Bossabilities folder
red satin ribbon, snowflakes punched from glitter paper with Martha Stewart snowflake punch, adhesive gemstones

Right, I'd better get on with my online shop for this week, need to get some goodies for the kids christmas parties. Back soon with the other card commission :)

16 sleeps

Just over a fortnight to go until the big day and I'm just about organised - how are all of you getting on? I have all the presents either bought or ordered, and I'm hoping to wrap them all this week.

The tree went up last weekend and the outdoor snowman went up during the week...
Yesterday we popped out to my mum and dad's so the kids could send their letters to Santa up the lum (we don't have a chimney, so its a special treat for them)

Well there's no rest for the wicked, especially at this time of year - but I'll be back again soon with some exciting news :)

Good Monday Morning

Well, the holidays are over, back to school today - but it wasn't so bad getting up early today, I had a bit of practice over the weekend.
I want to say thank you to everyone who came to see me at Hobbycraft Edinburgh - I hope I answered all your questions and have inspired you to get the best out of your promarkers. I especially want to say thankyou to Cass for making a special trip especially to visit me - as always, it was lovely to see you and the family. And not forgetting Vicky and all the staff at Hobbycraft, it was such a pleasure to meet and work with you.

I have been putting together a colour combo chart for funky coloured hair - I wanted to do a whole rainbow of hair colours, so I might share that tomorrow - finally got it finished on Saturday.
I have one more demo day to do this year at The Papeterie, and the kids school Christmas Fayre to get ready for and then I may or may not have time to do my own xmas cards.

My mum was watching the girls for me while I was away at Edinburgh this weekend, and she brought pumpkins with her - so I'll let you see them on Wednesday when I draw my promarker giveaway - remember to enter if you haven't already here. And don't forget to also enter Enfys's fab promarker giveaway too here, she's giving away a complete set of promarkers :)

All Set - Busy Weekend

I'm going to bed shortly - think it's a good idea to have an early night because of the wild weekend I'm away to have. No don't worry, I'm not out hoohaaing it up or anything, just got a busy demo and class weekend ahead.
Tomorrow I have my Spellbinders hat on and I'll be demonstrating all the latest christmas dies and embossing folders from Spellbinders, and showing you some clean-and-simple and fun ideas for christmas cards. Then in the afternoon I'm teaching a Spellbinders class, where we'll be using the same christmas dies and embossing folders to make some christmas cards.
Then on Sunday I do it all again, but this time I'll have my Letraset hat on and I'll be demoing promarkers and flexmarkers and using the wonderful Gorjuss stamps - you may have heard on the grapevine that these are no longer being manufactured, so you might want to grab these while you can. And in the afternoon I'm teaching a "next steps" promarker class.
So I'm all packed ready to take the train in the morning - definitely the way to travel :)
I'd love to see you all over the weekend, and if those demos aren't enough to tempt you then maybe the spectacular deal that Charlotte has for you will....
pop over to the Papeterie blog for details of the fantastic Big Shot deal - this weekend only!!
I'll leave you with some sneaky peeks of tomorrows cards...

Playing Catch Up

I have some time to catch up on blogger today, am all up to date and finished my 2 Uni modules, just need to prep for this weekend now :) I still have 1 or 2 places left on my Spellbinders class on Saturday 20th and my next steps Promarker class on Sunday 21st.
It's been a busy few weeks again so I thought I'd share some pics of what I've been up to...
Charlotte was off ill for a couple of weeks from the Papeterie, but Kath and I went ahead with the Papercraft Extravaganza last week. Thankfully Charlotte is feeling a bit better now and is back to work, so everything should be back to normal :)

And over the last few days I've done some Halloween classes for kids and here's a few of the things we made....

I'm off to have a nosey round blogland, then make a start on the spellbinders cards we'll be making this weekend

Madness

Well, yet again things have not gone to plan - I won't bore you, I'll just get on with it.
Letraset have released the last of the 2012 Limited Edition promarker sets this week and they are yummy - pretty frosted pastels.
Of course the first thing I did with mine was to complete my LE blending chart, and here's how it looks...
You can download a blank copy from my tutorial page
We have some exciting things coming up this month at Letraset, and we'll be giving some goodies away. You might want to follow my team-mates' blogs so you have more chances to get your hands on the freebies, so here's the links for:
Jessica......Enfys........and Jak.

So this week has been a bit of a blur, Pepsi had her annual health-check and jabs at the vet - she's quite happy to trot into the examination room, but as soon as the door is closed she gets very wary, the vet even got a growl when she gave her the needle.
Then it was Willow's regular hospital appointment, the following day it was Faith's regular appointment for her eyes which resulted in her getting a new prescription for glasses, and finally Willow got a major haircut yesterday. Willow has always had quite long hair, but she has masses of hair, its thick and curly and a complete nightmare to keep. She screams the place down when I wash it or brush it so I had had enough and she had had enough too, so we agreed on a chin length bob......
 that's her dad's glasses lol
