Mini Halloween Notebook

3 days in a row!! Are you impressed?

This is the third project I taught at the 2019 Winter Craft Retreat at Papeterie Crafts. This wee notebook is super cute and a great size to pop in your bag either for notes on the go, or as a wee journal.

The Eileen Hull Passport die from Sizzix makes cutting all the components of this notebook a breeze. I cut the front and back covers and the spine from the 600gsm board, the signature covers from Oyster Contour card and the signature pages from Watercolour Paper (as alway all paper and card is from Papeterie Crafts )

Distress Inks were used to colour the cover and signature covers - Wilted Violet, Twisted Citron and Spiced Marmalade then used a selection of stamps to decorate.
Finally, to finish it off I cut the skull from the Tim Holtz Skull and Crossbones die and heat embossed it with Verdigris embossing powder then several layers of UTEE.

A study in blue and tan

Good evening folks, back again with the second project from my first day of teaching at the 2019 Winter Retreat.

This project features an mdf book box kit from Madhatters Crafts and loads of Tim Holtz sizzix dies.

Firstly the book box was assembled and painted with chalk paint, while it was drying I cut the following Tim Holtz dies from my favourite Oyster Contour card: Garden Greens, Big Ticket, Butterfly duo and embossing folder. And out of 600gsm board I cut the Caged Bird and the key from Hardware Findings. I embossed the big ticket with a cuttlebone embossing folder, and the butterfly with its corresponding embossing folder then coloured all the die cut pieces (except the key) with Weathered Wood and Tea Dye distress inks. I heat embossed the key on both sides with Stampendous Aged Silver embossing powder. And finally I tied the box closed with some brown seam binding .

N.B all card and paper used is from
Papeterie Crafts

Back in the saddle

Well wow, what can I say, it’s been a wee while.... life can get so busy sometimes and time passes so quickly. Will stop for a proper catch up hopefully next month as things slow down a wee bit.

But in the meantime I thought I’d share some projects that I taught on the first day of our 6 day long 2019 Winter Retreat. We limited numbers for those choosing to opt for the whole 6 day retreat to give a new experience. At our usual 2 and 3 day Retreats we have a set format of 2 or 3 tutors each teaching 3 classes per day. So to mix it up a bit this time we have a day of me teachers no, a day of Charlotte teaching and a day of Jean teaching. That then leads us back into our normal format for the last 3 days. Teachers no for a whole day means we can be a little more relaxed with timings, and perhaps have some more involved projects than we normally would, as we are not restricted to one and a half hour class durations.

Anyway, before you get bored, I’ll stop waffling on and share my first project with you.

First up was my wrapped journal featuring the Eileen Hull Wrapped Journal scoreboard die from Sizzix (662816)

I also used a couple of Movers n Shapers dies to create the wording and globe to cut into the leather paper that I used to make the wrapped journal.

The wee notebooks inside were made using Oyster Contour card and Parchment paper from
Papeterie Crafts and coloured with Distress Inks - I used my usual Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers and Mustard Seed and the spritz and flick technique.

I’ll pop back tomorrow with another project
