Ahoy, me hearties!

I had a nosey over at the PfP challenge blog to see what this week's challenge was - when I saw it was "a pirates life for me" I thought "oh well, can't enter that then". But on my jaunt over to The Papeterie yesterday to catch up with Charlotte, Rachel, Alanna and Kath, I spotted these cute little Nellie Snellen pirate stamps.

Image: Treasure from Nellie Snellen, stamped with Memento London Fog and coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers - got to use Antique White and Light Fawn on his shirt and Aquamarine around him.
Red, black and white cardstock from The Papeterie, Hero Arts canvas stripes cling stamp with Memento Ladybug Red, Papermania mini buttons, faux stitching with Tim Holtz design ruler, Sakura silver metallic pen and Letraset Fineliner

Sneaky Peekies

It's looking like another beautiful day, so this is just a quick post so that I can get on with the housework and outside to enjoy it. I was hoping for a bit of peace today, but Willow's off sick so that's not going to happen - mind you she's not a bad patient really.

Thought I'd share a couple of sneaky peeks of what we'll be doing at my class at Simply Create on 14th May - there are still some places left so if you want to join us then please contact Jacqui to book your place.

we'll be using the fabulous Simply Sassy stamps from Sugar Nellie and I'll be showing you how to colour them with promarkers.
I have another class at Simply Create on 18th June where I'll be showing you what else you can do with promarkers besides colouring images - lots of fun techniques. Again contact Jacqui to book your place, don't hang about as places are limited.

Have you entered my candy yet? you still have a few days to enter - and remember if I reach 100 entries then I'll be adding some more goodies to the pot. :)

Popcorn the Bear

Morning,
well we've woken up today to some snow - a decent covering too, and it's making me nervous because there's more forecast, and heavier snow forecast for the weekend. And I have to drive out to Alford - which is about 40-odd miles west and therefore more likely to have far more snow than here. But hey it couild be worse - I could think of worse places to be snowed in at than a craft shop lol

I thought I'd share another of my competition entry cards with you. Now I was particularly proud of this one, even though it didn't win a prize.

Image: Popcorn Bear, coloured with promarkers
coredinations card stock, Wild Rose Studio papers, MS deep punch, craftwork cards greeting, gingham ribbon from Angel Crafts. And wow, these tiny micro beads are a pain in the bum!!

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges

Belli Challenge - R's (ribbon)
Fab n Funky - Going with the Flow
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes + sparkle (the microbeads are my bit of sparkle)

MIL Birthday

I have so many birthdays coming up over the next few weeks that I don't know whether I'm coming or going. My MIL's birthday is next week, as well as my friends' daughter, my nephew, my cousin and Pepsi. Not forgetting my youngest, Faith who turns 4 on Sunday - and that's just one week lol
Anyway, I thought I better get my MIL's card done before Graham goes offshore tomorrow so he can write it out. I'll nip to Markies this week and pop a gift card in it for her too.

Image is Stella (a digi) from Bugaboo Stamps, coloured with my trusty promarkers: warm grey 1-5 for the hair, Coral, Sunkissed Pink and Blush for the skin, warm grey 3 and duck egg for her top, black, cool grey 2,3, 5 for the tyres, arches and ground. Lime Zest, Lime Green and Bright Green for the car, Baby Pink and Cerise for the wheels, and interior.

The papers are all MME, a freebie from Papercraft Essentials magazine, which were distressed with my Tim Holts distressing tool and inked with Worn Lipstick distress ink. Pearls are Prima e line.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges...

Digital Tuesday - Happy Birthday
One Stop Craft Challenge - Colour challenge
Stamp Something - Something Digital

My Last PfP DT Card

Well, this is my last DT card for Passion for Promarkers which is also my last DT tutorial for the PfP weekend workshop.
I've really enjoyed the last year at PfP, and will miss the teams loads
This week you could win a stamp of your choice from Whiff of Joy remember, you have to be in it to win it.

The theme this week was chosen by me and it is "male cards" what with Father's Day coming up this Sunday and I have also done a nice and simple sketch which is very adaptable and will give you plenty of scope.

So, this is the card I made for my dad for Father's Day...
Image: Scotland Ian from Digital Delights by Louby Lou, coloured with promarkers: Coral, Sunkissed Pink and Blush for his skin, Spice, Apricot and Lemon for his hair, Warm Grey 1-5 for his jacket, hat and the shading on his pompom, sporran, socks, shirt and kilt. Yellow, Petrol Blue and China Blue for his kilt and Black for his shoes. (You can find the tutorial for the image, either on my Promarker Tutorials Page or over on the Weekend Workshop)

Tartan papers are from my stash, the centre lattice panels were made using a MS deep edge punch trimmed down, Papermania eyelets, greeting is Daisy & Dandelion, card is core'dinations.

So, pop on over to PfP to check out how the rest of the DT have interpreted the sketch

Sad (for me) news, and A Happy Day

Sadly I have decided to resign from Passion for Promarkers, for various reasons. I'm very very sad about it as it has been such a huge part of my life, but I have a string of other things in my life that have been badly neglected and really need more committment from me.

But.... I had a very special visitor today, the absolutely gorgeous Sarah Horne (my ex Teamie at PfP). So we had a good catch up, and sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine - yup, it does come out here now and again lol

Just in case you're reading this Sarah - my parcel arrived about 10 minutes after I got back home from dropping you off haha, and I hope you have a great time out at Simply Create

So this is our first week with the new Design Team on their own - as you may already know, the bosses, Gina and Denise are staying on, and so are Michele and myself - so you'll have to put up with us a bit longer lol

Andie has picked this weeks theme of "Books" which can be interpreted in a number of ways, I've chosen to use a book as an embellishment. You can use any colours, but do remember to use your promarkers.

Up for grabs this week we have £10 voucher for

Remember to pop on over to Passion for Promarkers to see the new Design Team's samples, and enter our challenge.

Woohooo, Passion for Promarkers is 1 year old!! and we're celebrating in style - come join the party.
The new Design Team 2 has been revealed - and we're so chuffed to have some new faces on board, what fantastically talented ladies. It's a little bittersweet though, as we're also saying a temporary cheerio to Design Team 1 - but don't worry, like Arnie, they'll be back!

We've had a fantastic first year at PfP and personally speaking, I've had a ball - I get to work with fabulously talented ladies, who are great fun and make me laugh loads. I get to play with my favourite things and I also get to share my experience - what more could a girl ask for.

Remember, you have to be in it to win it - and it's not difficult to enter, the theme this week is.... Anything Goes, so it's entirely up to you - just so long as you use promarkers on your creation

This week, seeing as it's a special occassion, I thought I'd try something new. It's a style of card that has been on the go for a wee while, but I've always avoided it because I thought it looked awfully fiddly and complicated. But, boy, was I surprised at just how simple these tri-fold shutter cards actually are to make.
Image: Paul from TGF's Roll Call, Wild Sprouts Collection 1, coloured with promarkers: I tried out the same colours that Michele used for her video tut on the Weekend Workshop, Burnt Orange, Coral and Blush for his skin, Caramel, Cocoa and Walnut for his clothes and hair.
Cardstock is all core'dinations, papers are Papermania Its A Man's World except the pale blue polka dots which are Wild Rose Studio.
Raffia ribbon is from Bunny Zoe, buttons from stash, greetings from Craftwork Cards
Here's another view and Paul's close-up...

So remember to pop over and see the fabulous designs from Team 1 and Team 2 over on the PfP blog and we'll look forward to seeing all your entries

** Edited to add the tutorial that I used to make my tri-fold shutter card - from Splitcoast Stampers

Passion for Promarkers #52 - Mythical Creatures

Oh I've finally got the opportunity to "do" Edward!! woohooo
Tracy has chosen the fabulous theme of Mythical Creatures over at Passion for Promarkers this week and rather than choose a unicorn, or fairy I decided to go with a vampire!
In case you've been living in a cave, Edward is the lead character in the Twilight Saga - and like half the female population I completely fell in love with him when I read the books, although I have to say I'm more of a Jacob fan when it comes to the films (especially with his shirt off, wow!)

Anyway, moving swiftly on before I get carried away thinking about half naked Jacob mmmmmmmmmmmm
This week you can win 2 lovely Mary Hall stamps from Sugar Nellie - Party Parade and Big Bunch of Love
Are you ready to meet Edward??
Image: WS Flirty Edward digi from TGF coloured with promarkers: Satin for his skin, Chestnut, Cinnamon and Pastel Yellow for his hair, Blue Pearl and China Blue for his jeans and Ice Grey 3 for the shading on his shirt, and black for his shoes. I then covered all of his skin with glamour dust to give the effect of his skin being covered in tiny diamonds.

Papers are all from the Papermania Touch of Teal kit that has been sitting untouched since I bought it ages ago, card is all core'dinations, pearls are from Hobbycraft and the punched bits are Stampin' Up word window punch.

Here's Edwards close-up, I've tried to show how his skin sparkles...

Remember to pop over to the rest of the DT for more inspiration, they are stunning. And I'll look forward to visiting all your fab entries this week again.

Passion for Promarkers #51 - Strawberries & Cream

We have a gorgeous summery theme for you this week at Passion for Promarkers - chosen by Sue - Strawberries and Cream. Now you can interpret that in a number of ways, whether its the colour strawberry and cream or more literally like I did.

The prize this week is a pack of 5 Promarkers from Letraset

Image: Shy Willow from Whiff of Joy, coloured with promarkers: Sunkissed Pink and Blush for her skin, Warm Grey 3-5, Meadow Green & Apple Green, Pear Green, Grass and Berry Red

Papers are all Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety, ribbon is Smirk, and the greeting is also from Whiff of Joy

Here's her close-up...

I wasn't entirely happy with that card, so I decided to make another, but this time I focussed more on the colour scheme of strawberry and cream, using Vanilla Cream core'dinations card as my base...

Main image: Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellie, strawberry stamps are from Whiff of Joy, the top greeting is Hero Arts and the bottom one is Whiff of Joy.
coloured with promarkers: Cardinal Red for her dress and the strawberries, Marsh Green for the trim on her dress and the strawberry leaves, Warm Grey 3 for the shading on her tights, Ivory, Vanilla and Sunkissed Pink for her skin, Caramel, Cinnamon and Cocoa for her hair.
The cardstock is all Vanilla Cream core'dinations (I even stamped the images and coloured them directly onto this cardstock)
Pearls are Kaisercraft.

Here's her close-up....

New Baby 1

My boss at work, and friend Charlotte recently had her first baby so I had a few baby cards to make, on for Charlotte and her husband James,...
