Passion for Promarkers - Challenge #6 - Moss Green & Poppy

Hi there and welcome to another challenge at Passion for  Promarkers, can you believe we are on week 6 already?

This week's challenge colours (remember to use Promarkers) are Moss Green and Poppy and they were chosen by my fabulous team-mate Caryn. She added a wee twist to the challenge this week to keep everyone on their toes and that was to include "something tasty". So I immediately thought of one of my favourites... Willow with Hot Chocolate from Whiff of Joy. Remember to check out the other DT's blogs for more details on their fabby creations.

This week's fabulous prize is a £10 voucher for Joanna Sheen

Remember to check the rules in the sidebar on Passion for Promarkers to make sure you qualify for the prize draw.

So, on with my DT card for this week...

Monday 29th June 2009

Hello from FlamingoLand!!
we arrived on Saturday afternoon after a wee detour - in my defence, as navigator, can I just say that the sign which said "For Scarborough, follow..." was partially obscured by grass and bushes. So we missed the junction and ended up nearly in Leeds lol
Anyway, we got here in the end and we didn't do too badly when you consider that I had no map, satnav or any other way of navigating other than a rough memory of the geography of the North of England and toad signs.
On Sunday we spent nearly all day in the Zoo at FlamingoLand - if you're ever in the area, you really must see the Sealion Show. The sealions are absolutely amazing, I had no idea how similar they are to dogs and how intelligent they are. I have some fab photo's, which I'll post when we get home as the internet connection we are getting is shockingly bad.
Today, I've stayed "at home" in the caravan with Faith as I completely over did it yesterday and am suffering for it now. So have been throwing down co-dydramol like its going out of fashion.
Graham took Willow and Scott to see the Spongebob Squarepants 4D show as well as some more of the theme park.

Passion for Promarkers - Ruth's Drawings

Have you been over to Passion for Promarkers lately??

You can join their challenges every week on Tuesday's at 9am which have a prize, and there is also their Weekend Workshops every Friday with tutorials, hints and tips for using your promarkers.

This last Friday was an extra special Weekend Workshop because one of our followers and challenge particiapants has very kindly done a drawing especially for Passion for Promarkers. Michele has done a fabulous tutorial showing you how to colour the image and some of the DT have done some examples for inspiration.

This was my take on Ruth's wonderful drawing, I decided to use the challenge colours from a few weeks ago - the pumpkin and cinnamon as I enjoyed using them so much.

For my dad

I forgot to show you this Fathers Day card that I made for my dad at the time, so I thought I'd schedule it for today.

We should be in Annan by the time you read this and later today we'll be travelling to Yorkshire. We're having a wee break with the kids at Flamingo Land. Last night we were going to be staying with the out-laws (Graham's parents) so we'll have caught up with them, Graham's niece Claire and her partner Nibs and their kiddies Hope and Lexie. This will be the first time we've met Lexie and she's just over a year old. We might even have seen Graham's brother Lindsay and his wife Linda - yes that gets very confusing lol. We were last down to visit at Easter 2008, so we'll really see a difference in wee Hope. She was born 6 weeks before Willow and despite both being Brockies they are completely different.

I'm hoping that I'll still manage to blog a wee bit every day as Graham has bought a dongle-thingy (thats the technical term lol) and we'll be taking one of the laptops with us. I have scheduled a few posts for the week though, including this week's  Weekend Workshop tomorrow  and my DT card for Passion for Promarkers on Tuesday. I just hope Mr Blogger behaves lol

So, as I was saying, this is the card for my dad for Father's Day last week, I've given you 2 views so you can see that the front is cut down a bit and the image is positioned across the gap.

Happy Birthday Joshua

Willow was away to the birthday party of one of her wee friends from Nursery at the weekend, and the theme was bugs and butterflies - even Joshua's mum was dressed as a ladybird lol

Willow wanted to go in a butterfly dress from the butterfly dress shop!! unfortunately we couldn't locate a butterfly dress shop, so she went in jeans with butterfly embroidery, butterfly socks, a butterfly top and even a butterfly bauble in her hair.

Wildlife and the latest stash

Before I show you what I got at Simply Create yesterday, I wanted to show you the latest additions to our garden - or maybe I should just call it a zoo lol

These cheeky wee meerkats appeared in the garden this week and they seem to be enjoying the sunshine today...

So the family of meerkats join the 2 cats, 10 koi carp, hedgehog and her 3 babies, and the frog in the pond - its a bloody menagerie here lol

Moving swiftly on, I had a super morning at Simply Create in Alford watching Judy colouring Sugar Nellie images. Judy is an absolute whizz with the Prismacolor Pencils, and she's inspired me to dig mine out and try them again. It was really nice to meet Judy, she's a lovely quine and coped far better than I think I would with demonstrating. She answered all the questions that she was being bombarded with while colouring beautifully.

And she completely won me over with her colouring of the new Diane Duda stamps from Sugar Nellie. I was keeping an open mind about the release of these stamps as although obviously a very talented lady, Diane Duda's style isn't really my cup of tea. BUT... after seeing the Upside Down image that Judy coloured on Saturday and seeing her card from the blog hop on Friday I definitely had my mind changed and had to buy her.

It was lovely to see Jacqui again, who owns the shop and I finally got to meet Karen - Mrs Sugar Nellie herself - who was on bag-packing duty, and very kindly threw a couple of oh-so-cute Gorjuss Girls badges in my bag.

So here are the awfully naughty things that jumped into my pretty pink basket...

Happy Father's Day

Yup, its Father's Day - like its not Father's  Day every day eh girls? lol

So these are the cards I made for the girls to give to Graham

Images: Jim Collections from DigiStamp Boutique, coloured with promarkers; blush, cinnamon & cocoa, blue pearl & china blue, meadow green & apple, pastel blue, cool grey 1, 2, 3, 4,  grass, spice, terracotta, moss & olive.

Papers are all Basic grey Two Scoops, core'dinations card mats, papermania brads, greeting is Daisy & Dandelion, jute ribbon from Bunny Zoe Crafts

And here are Jim's close-ups....

Off on another crafty jaunt

Hopefully I'm off on another crafty jaunt today. Remember the fab new shop at Alford that I went to a few weeks ago? Simply Create! well today they have a very special Sugar Nellie event. The fabulous Judy is going to be demonstrating and a little birdie tells me the newly released Diane Duda stamps from Sugar Nellie will be there. So I'm looking forward to meeting Jacqui (the owner of Simply Create) and maybe Fiona again as well as meeting Judy and possibly  Karen (Mrs Sugar Nellie) herself for the first time.

You just know I'm not coming home empty handed!! :)

Willow's Nursery staff thank you cards

Well this is a first for me, I'm not usually a fan of Magnolia stamps - and yeh I know I'm in the minority here. But I've been looking for a school/teacher related stamp for ages and couldn't really find anything that appealed to me - except of course Lindsay's freebie card kit which I used for Scott's teacher's cards.

So when I was down at the Artstamps show in Edinburgh at the beginning of the month I spotted the Study Tilda stamp and thought she'd be ideal for Willow's cards.

Images: Study Tilda by Magnolia, coloured with promarkers: Ivory & Blush for the skin, Blossom, Rose Pink & Maroon for her top and pullover, Blue Pearl, Cornflower and China Blue for her jeans, Cinnamon & Cocoa for her boots, Sandstone & Cinnamon for her book, Sandstone, Cinnamon, Cocoa & Umber for her hair.

Papers are all from Lindsay's super freebie card kit

the card blank was inked with whispers chestnut inkpad

the apple was diecut from core'dinations card with a cuttlekids die in the cuttlebug and the mat underneath the image was cut using a large oval scallop nestie

the greeting is from the CCSR Sentiments stamp set and the leaves are from my stash

And here's Tilda's close-up....
