Yet More Spring Stroll from Angel Crafts

I just can't seem to stop playing with the Spring Stroll ribbon kit from Angel Crafts - there are just so many pretty ribbons in there. I thought I'd try out a smaller basket woven ribbon panel this time, instead of the whole background - and I think it's quite cute, what do you think? don't worry, you can be brutally honest - I can handle constructive criticism :)

Papers are Kaisercraft La-Di-Da from Angel Crafts, cardstock from core'dinations, ribbons and bling from the Spring Stroll ribbon kit from Angel Crafts.

Passion for Promarkers #49 - Sketch & Handmade Flowers

Where oh where does the time go? the weekend passed quicker than the speed of light!
As it's Tuesday morning, we've another new challenge for you over at Passion for Promarkers - this week Michele has given us a super sketch to work from as well as the additional item - handmade flowers, which is one of Michele's specialities.

I decided to turn Michele's sketch on it's side so that the oblong of the image worked a bit better. I made this card for a bloggy buddy and the MIL of Sarah, one of my teamies at PfP - the very talented Fiona who is under the weather at the moment and in hospital. So, get well soon Fi!!

Image: Poorly Suzy, from Digistamp Boutique: coloured with promarkers: Sunkissed Pink and Blush for her skin; Pastel Yellow, Mustard and Spice for her hair; Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Warm Grey 3, Soft Peach, Peach and Mango for the bedding, vase and flowers

The papers are all Kaisercraft Peachy Keen from Angel Crafts, the peach cardstock is core'dinations, the greeting is a Hero Arts stamp and the wee pearls are from Hobbycraft. The handmade flowers were punched using 2 EK Success retro flower punches and embossed on the reverse.

Here's poor wee Suzy's close-up...

So, are you up for the challenge? need a little more inspiration? then go have a look at the other DT creations for more ideas of how to make handmade flowers.
The prize this week is a pack of 5 Promarkers from the home of promarkers themselves

Princess Pepsi

It's been brought to my attention that I haven't done a Princess Pepsi Update for quite a while.
So here's a couple of pics I took the other day - at first glance she looks awfully sad, but if you look closely, you can see the blur that is her wee waggy tail.

She's growing up so fast, it's so weird when I look back at the pics of her when we first got her and she looks so tiny.
The garden is now secure - the fence is sorted, so she's running around the garden like a loony with the kids as I'm typing this.

**Edited to add...
Perhaps the garden isn't completely secure then, the little terror managed to escape next door - and what did the neighbours do? just stood there and waited for us to come and get her! didn't occur to them to grab her collar
Anyway, we've got her back and Graham is away planking up the gap. So here's a few pics of Pepsi and the kids in the garden this afternoon...
Here's her trying to find the frog at the edge of the pond...

There's no show without Punch, here's Ziggy waiting to mug Pepsi as she races past him...

I've been on a roll this week with all the fabby goodies from Angel Crafts - this time, I've not used the Spring Stroll kit, but I have used the gorgeous new kaisercraft La-Di-Da paper pad that I got from Angel Crafts - there are glazed, flocked and glittered papers in the pad and they are so much fun.

Sugar Nellie - Golden Oldies & Angel Crafts DT

I've really been enjoying the journey over on the Sugar Nellie blog, where they took us back to how SN started and what has happened since. I didn't discover Sugar Nellie until January 2009, when I found the gorgeous and timeless Daisy - and I've been a huge fan ever since, with an ever growing collection of sugar.

Karen has challenged us to dig out our golden oldie Sugar Nellies and ink them up again. And I was sorely tempted to fish out my ever faithful Daisy, but decided just for a change to choose another of Elisabeth Bell's gorgeous images - Reflective. I also used the sketch from The Sugar Bowl, but missed the deadline

Image: Reflective from Sugar Nellie, coloured with promarkers
The polka dot and Flocked stripe papers are from the new Kaisercraft La-Di-Da paper pad from Angel Crafts
The pink card stock is core'dinations (I used an MS border punch on that and the green polka dot paper)
The pink and lime ribbons, and the flowers are all from the Spring Stroll ribbon kit at Angel Crafts
Card candy and greeting are from Craftwork Cards

Angel Crafts DT - Spring Stroll

Have you seen this month's ribbon kit at Angel Crafts - it's full of fab zingy summer colours, plenty to cheer you up after all the weird and wonderful weather we've been having. Up here in Aberdeenshire we had all 4 seasons yesterday - snow, hail, rain, sun and gale force winds.

The kit also includes this fab Nikki stamp..

All ribbons, bling and flower are from the Spring Stroll ribbon kit from Angel Crafts
cardstock is core'dinations whitewash, embossed and sanded and the greeting is craftwork cards.

My next card also uses ribbon and bling from the Spring Stroll kit, but I used a Sassy Studio image that I bought ages ago and haven't used before.

Papers are all Wild Rose Studios, ribbons and bling from the Spring Stroll ribbon kit, the greeting stamp was a freebie from a magazine

I still have loads of ribbon, bling and flowers left so I'll see what else I can come up with soon.

Passion for Promarkers #48 - In the Garden

That's been a really quick week again, where is the time flying to? Well it's Tuesday morning so that means it's another new challenge at Passion for Promarkers, this week the lovely Maria chose the theme "In the Garden" and you can use any colours of promarkers. Maria has also done a fabulous tutorial for the Weekend Workshop featuring a very clever way to use your blender pen, so if you pop over there for a nosey - remember to leave a comment there for a chance to win some fab digital images from Digistamp Boutique.

So this week, for a wee change, I decided to dig out my AquaPromarkers and have a go at colouring with them. I haven't really done any watercolouring since I did my Higher exam at school, which was more than 20 years ago (argh, how did that happen) so I'm a wee bit rusty. And of course you have to forget everything you know about using Promarkers, as the AquaPromarkers require a completely different technique. I also decided to go for bright cheery colours - I don't know about you, but "watercolour" always makes me think "wishy-washy", and I wanted to prove otherwise.

Of course, the good thing about AquaPromarkers is that you don't need so many colours, as you can dilute each of them to a shade that suits you.

Image: Bloom & Grow from Sugar Nellie, coloured with AquaPromarkers: for her skin I mixed some Sepia and Rose Carmine on my glass cutting board with the Aqua Blender, for her hair I used Naples Yellow and Gold Ochre, for her clothing I used Rose Carmine and Gold Ochre, The grass and leaves were Sap Green and Permanent Green and the watering can was Lamp Black.

Papers: the butterfly paper was a freebie from SC&P magazine, and the pink polka dot and pink stripe papers are Doodlebug, the yellow, pink and mint cardstock is all core'dinations.
The greeting is Daisy & Dandelion and ribbon is from Angel Crafts

Here's her wee close-up...

Digistamp Boutique GDT - Offer of the Month & Babies

I'm so sad that this my last month as GDT at Digistamp Boutique, I've had such a great time playing with some of Sally-Ann's gorgeous images. But the month isn't up just yet so I have a few more creations to share.

I'm not entirely sure about this card - when I made it I liked it, but the more I look at it, the more I think it's pretty garish. But I'll let you decide :)

Image: Marty & Flower from Digistamp Boutique, coloured with promarkers.
All the green and lilac papers are freebies from this month's SC&P magazine, the pink stripe paper is Doodlebug - all edged with appropriately coloured promarkers
The ribbon is from Angel Crafts, greeting is Hero Arts and the bling is from Hobbycraft

I'd like to enter Marty into the following challenges:

Stamp Something - Layers

Next up is a baby girl card, everyone I know seems to be having baby boys so I haven't had much opportunity to make a baby girl one for ages, but Bathtime Ellie was just too cute for me to resist.
Image: Bathtime Ellie from Digistamp Boutique, coloured with promarkers and sakura clear star pen
Papers are all Tilda from Panduro, cardstock is all core'dinations. I used a MS border punch on the rosebud panel.
Ribbon and safety pin are from my stash and the pearls are from Hobbycraft

Passion for Promarkers #47 – Make a background with Promarkers!

Well this week we have a big challenge for you, I know all the DT have been wracking their brains for ways to make a background with their promarkers, which is the fabby theme chosen by Ida this week at Passion for Promarkers. But it’s meant to be a challenge, and all of use rose to it. You need to check out all the other DT samples (links on my sidebar) to see al the different ways we’ve interpreted that theme.
I chose to colour a selection of ribbons and trims with promarkers for a real tactile effect.
This week our sponsor is Letraset– home of the Promarkers, and you could win a pack of 5 promarkers to add to your collection.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how all of you interpret the theme of making your own backgrounds – maybe you can come up with something we haven’t thought of.

Fine Weekend

I don't want to jinx it, but we've had some fantastic weather here in Aberdeenshire over the weekend.
On Saturday we went out to see my mum and dad, they were more delighted to see Pepsi again lol I think they've missed her since she stayed her holidays with them. But I've booked them up for a week in August to puppy-sit, when we're away again. My wee brother lives about a mile from my mum and dad so I thought I'd nip round and see him, his fiancee and my nephew Kyle, and ended up staying for a BBQ - what a fabulous day out. The kids had a ball, and they were black by the time we left from running around in the garden. You should've seen the colour of the bath water that night!
(Sorry about the awful pics, I took them on my phone)

Then on Sunday afternoon Willow had been invited to her wee pal Raegan's 5th birthday at the local soft play centre - I say local, but it's a good half hour drive down the dual carriageway. I've known Raegan's mum, Sam, since she was a wee girl - and its really nice that Willow and Raegan get on so well even though they don't get together as often as we'd like. Faith came too, so she had a great time too - it was so cute seeing Raegan, Willow and Faith holding hands coming down the huge bumpy slide.

Scott was away at his dad's yesterday, but we took him home a goody bag from the party so he didn't feel left out.

Then last night I bit the bullet and went and booked our summer holiday - I've had so much trouble organising something. Very few flights from Aberdeen, and then when I looked at flying from Glasgow or Edinburgh I was stuck with having to take 14 days, the next problem was finding somewhere that would accommodate the 5 of us - obviously I should never have had that 3rd child!! But finally I managed to get a very very helpful young man at Thomas Cook who managed to organise the accommodation, flights and transfers all separately for me - so its all booked and paid for. As Scott is going to Orkney with his dad for a week in August, we'll take the girls to Ibiza at the same time - and the best bit is I get to see my good chum Rachel again, who lives over there.
So the losing weight campaign starts here - am determined I don't want to be the biggest heifer in a swimsuit this year.
Will be back tomorrow with my PfP DT card - it's a cracker of a theme this week, a real challenge.

Fancy some digi images?

then pop on over to the Digi Friday PfP Weekend Workshop for your chance to win some. Its simples too, all you have to do is leave a comment

I thought I'd share a few pics from our few days away at Flamingoland last week - we cut things a bit short as the weather in Yorkshire was pretty horrible and a lot of snow had fallen in Scotland and we weren't sure if we'd get home if we waited until the end of the week. But it was fine to get away for a wee while. And Pepsi enjoyed her wee mini-break at my mum and dad's, she was thoroughly spoiled.
Faith, before sweeties, and after sweeties!!

Willow riding a jolly zebra

Faith on the carousel
