More Peeks

Oh my word, I am so loving all this sun. Yesterday I decided to make a start on the very hard job of testing out various brands of cardstock with alcohol markers - which strangely, I managed to do outside in the sun ;) But I ran into a bit of a problem, I stopped for lunch and started reading The Hunger Games on my kindle, well I then couldn't put it down.
And today I'm having a quick trip over to The Papeterie to heckle the fabulous Erika Gunter who is demonstrating Spellbinders dies and embossing folders today. Unfortunately Graham is offshore at the moment so I can't get to any of her classes tomorrow, but at least I get to pick up some fab tips and tricks today. I think this may turn out to be an expensive day, not only will Erika no duobt persuade me to splurge on nesties, but I'm taking Willow and Faith with me - never a good idea!!
Anyway, that's enough waffle from me - it's way too nice to be sitting inside listening to me, so I'll leave you with some more sneaky peeks of my project for GJWTHF on the 9th June. I decided to do a couple of different colour ways....

GJWTHF Perth

Can you believe that it's nearly June already? and still can't believe this amazing weather either. I spent last weekend tidying up my craft area and kitting up for our final GJWTHF event in Perth on the 9th June. It's kind of bittersweet, it's sad that this will be our last GJWTHF, but it's happy too because it's shaping up to be the best yet :)
Kath shared some sneaky peeks yesterday of the project she'll be teaching, so it's my turn today to share some cryptic sneaky peeks...

Can you tell what it is yet? lol
Right, sorry it's short and sweet today but I need to get out in this sun while it lasts - have an appt with the dietitian today too, so fingers crossed that goes well
Have a great day, whatever you're doing :~)

Metallics Winner

Can I just say, thank you so much to everyone who has left me such fantastic comments about me joining the Letraset Craft DT and also about my first post featuring the metallic markers. It really has been such a boost to hear such nice things.

Before I reveal the winner of the 2 packs of Metallic Markers... isn't this weather just fantastic?? it's absolutely scorchio here on the coast just south of Aberdeen, so much so that I decided to ignore everything that needed done inside today, took my kindle and my iphone outside and sat in the sun - bliss!
I also had a visit to the dentist this morning, and regular readers will know that I'm petrified. I can deal with just about any situation, I'm not scared of anything.... except the dentist, all he needs to do is say the 2 scariest words in the English language..... "root treatment" and my heart starts racing and my palms break into a sweat. And believe me, I know how pathetic I am lol.

So, I'll be back tomorrow with another giveaway - my second post will be going live on the Letraset Blog tomorrow, so to celebrate I'll be giving away some more goodies. And then I'll be back on Thursday with some GJWTHF sneaky peeks.
We have our last Girls Just Want To Have Fun event in Perth on the 9th June, so Kath will be revealing some sneaky peeks on her blog tomorrow too.
Well, I guess I better stop waffling and get on with announcing the winner...
Mr Random.org has selected number 43 which is Ali Marshall - congratulations Ali, please email me with your home address and I'll get your markers off to you. If I don't hear from you by noon on Friday I'll choose another winner.

Classes, Workshops and Demos

Well can you believe that we're almost half way through 2012 already - I'm going to be getting my diary out to book in some demos and classes for the 2nd half of the year soon.
But in the mean time I thought I'd round up what's going on over then next month or two...
Firstly, the fabulously talented, local celebrity crafter (haha, I get a row every time I call her that) and one of my bestest crafting buddies, Kath Stewart is at The Papeterie this weekend, she'll be demonstrating in the morning and there are still a few places left on her fantastic class, where you will make the most beautiful project using Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 Art Parts and Stamps - simply gorgeous!! want a sneaky peek?....
So don't hang around - book your place as soon as you can.

I have a couple of demo/class days coming up at The Papeterie too, I'll be there on the 2nd and 16th June, demo-ing in the mornings and classes in the afternoon with promarkers and flexmarkers. Just call The Papeterie on 01224 802337 to reserve your place.

And in July, after the success of our Altered Art Evening, I'll be teaming up with that famous local crafter Kath and the gorgeous Charlotte to bring you a fabulously fun Altered Art Day on Sunday 15th July from 10am - 3pm. Again, if you fancy joining us please get in quick as places are limited for all classes, just call 01224 802337.

Some Exciting News

Some of you already know my good news, because it was announced over on the Letraset Blog and Twitter earlier today, but for those who don't know..
I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that I was selected to be on the Craft DT for Letraset, so I'm joining 3 internationally renowned crafters, Enfys, Jessica and Jak. So I'm a bit star-struck :) but so excited to be working alongside such wonderful talent.

We'll each be taking it in turns to post a couple of times a month on the Letraset blog where we'll be bringing you some cool projects and techniques with new products.
Tomorrow should be Jessica's first post and then my first post will be on Wednesday, and Enfys and Jak follow on the rest of the week.
So to celebrate, I'll be posting a wee blog candy on Wednesday - so watch this space :)

Just A Quickie

Just a wee quick post tonight, I still have loads to do.
We got home this afternoon, and after I got the first load of washing in the washing machine I headed out to pick Pepsi up from my mum and dad's. Apparently she didn't miss me at all, so they told me - but she was awfully chuffed to see me nevertheless :)
So now that we're kind of back to normal and I'm all scrubbed and ready for a day of demonstrating and teaching at The Papeterie tomorrow. I've been playing with the new Summer Limited Edition 2012 promarkers, and I'm loving these new colours - they are definite must-have's.
So I'm going to leave you now, but I'll be back with a few more holiday pics over the weekend.

The outlaws

Had another busy fun filled day today. We had a wee jaunt to the beach this morning...

Which was pretty much made of shells...

Then we had lunch and a bit of retail therapy in Dumfries. We spent the afternoon at Dalton Pottery where the kids all got to paint some pottery. Scott had a money bank, willow had a cow shaped bank and faith had a rabbit shaped pen pot.

And as if that wasn't enough excitement for one day, we also went to visit Graham's parents, his brother and his wife, his niece and her family. Graham's niece Claire's two girls are so similar to our girls...

Chocoholics

Oh what a great day we had today. We drove over to Castle Douglas to visit The Cocoa Bean Factory - what a fantastic place! The kids took part in the chocolate workshop where they got to make their own slab of chocolate, a chocolate animal and a Choc and marshmallow sweetie. Willow took a wee while to warm up to it, but she soon started to enjoy herself.

They also have a super indoor play area and cafe as well as a huge outdoor playground . And it's not all for kids either, there are three - yup three - cases of speciality chocolates...

Here's Scott with his bag of goodies...

Rain Rain Go Away

Well we made it, we travelled down to Southerness in Dumfries-shire today. We left a lovely sunny morning in Porty and arrived at a cold rainy Dumfries, after driving through pretty much all 4 seasons on the way .

The kids are highly delighted, they love a caravan holiday for some reason :)

Well that's been another whistle-stop week. And today I'm busy with the washing machine, tumble dryer and packing all set for a few days break with the kids.

This week I've been searching for new alcohol ink techniques - I'm lucky enough to be able to demo Letraset products and I particularly enjoy playing with the alcohol inks. Those of you who know me, know that I have absolutely no patience, which is why I like decorating things with alcohol inks - they dry so quickly :)

These candles are so quick and easy to make, and every one is going to be unique.
And of course it wouldn't be SOS without my weekly hottie, this week it's the gorgeous Josh Holloway from Lost.

I know there are lots of you who already use Pinterest, so join in with us and Share on Sunday's :) Just ;link up your post on the Sugar Nellie blog here.

Altered Art Night

Well I'm only just recovering from our fab Altered Art Night at The Papeterie on Thursday. What a great night!
Charlotte, Kath and I would just like to thank all the enthusiastic ladies of all ages who joined us.
The idea of the altered art night is to give crafters a wee taster of altered art techniques and products. I chose to use Letraset alcohol inks, so at my table, each group of crafters decorated gift boxes in different themes, using a variety of different surfaces.
There was a butterfly theme using Tim Holtz "on the edge" and "movers & shapers" dies...

There was also a sewing theme, again using Tim Holtz "on the edge", "movers & shapers" and bigz dies

And lastly, a floral theme using the Tim Holtz tattered florals die...

And here's some pics of the crafters in action...

We're going to be holding another altered art event on Sunday 15th July from 10am - 3pm. Just call 01224 802337 for more details and to book your place.

I'm hoping to schedule a few posts for this week as I'm away for a few days with the family, and I'll be back tomorrow with my SOS post which may or may not include the obligatory hottie lol

Summer 2012 Limited Edition Colours

Well I'm sure you've all heard by now that Letraset have released the Summer 2012 Limited Edition pack - these will only be produced for a limited time, and when the stock is gone they will never make these colours again.
And wow - what gorgeous, tangy summery colours they are..
My ones arrived yesterday so I had a quick play around with them just to see how yummy these colours are. And just like I did with the Spring colours, I've put together a wee chart to show where these Limited Edition colours fit in with your existing promarkers...

If you want to see the equivalent Spring chart, you can find it here.
Now, I need to get cracking with a lovely summery project to show them off :)

New Baby 1

My boss at work, and friend Charlotte recently had her first baby so I had a few baby cards to make, on for Charlotte and her husband James,...
