Thankyou from Manda and school woes.

I just wanted to share this fab card that Manda sent me yesterday - isn't it gorgeous? she has also entered it in this weeks Cinnamon and Pumpkin challenge at Passion for Promarkers.

Talking of Passion for Promarkers - remember to check the blog later today as its the Weekend Workshop over there and there are How to's on colouring Skin and Hair, and a Tutorial on how to use the Blender Pen. Don't miss it!!

Remember if there's anything you want to know about using Promarkers, just post a comment on the blog and the DT will try to answer you if they can.

My eldest has had the same primary school teacher for 2 years now and he's grown quite attached to her. Scott, as some of you may know, is on the Autistic Spectrum and gets really bent out of shape about change. Yesterday he got out of school in complete hysterics, face like a torn scone, and in floods of tears. He couldn't tell me what was wrong with him - he fished out a note from his bag and handed it over. It turns out his teacher has been appointed as Depute Head Teacher at a school on the other side of Aberdeen and he is completely inconsolable. I've tried to get him to understand that he wouldn't be getting her as a teacher next year anyway, but he's sussed that he'll probably never see her again so that isn't really working. Have tried to cheer him up by suggesting that he makes her a nice leaving card and he can put all his love into that for her.

oh dear poor Scott! Hard enough for kids to realise they aren't getting the same teacher again, but for Scott it must be 10 times worse. What about seeing if you can get a photo of him with her and he can decorate a photo frame for his room? And of course the usual lots and lots of hugs :o)

great card from Manda, love it :o)

aww hon sending big hugs to scott, my youngest goes up to high school in sept so will be leaving a school i've taken all my kids too over the past 16 years, so it will be a bit of a wrench for me not to go there anymore, but for scott it must be extra difficult, but he's got a lovely mum to support him, big hugs
to you both

Ahh bless him Debz, poor Scott, does he know who he'll be getting next year yet, we've just had the classes for next year issued and Adams had Mrs T for the last two years and really is a fantastic lower school, it'll be intresting to see how he gets on next term they are getting a male probationary teacher, but the up side is Conner who's off to P1 will be getting Mrs T, so we know he'll be ok and settle easily.
Give Scott a hug from me and my boys.

Aww poor Scott. What a wee shame. Kids get so used to one person, they find it so hard getting used to someone else and their different ways of working. Much more difficult if you've had the same person for two years and you have particular needs which need to be met. Hopefully, the next teacher he gets will be just as great as his current one and that'll make life more bearable. Sending him a big hug. Lainy xxx

Poor Scott, poor Mum too, change isn't easy for him.

The card is lovely, I've got Promarkers on my list for Artstamp at Newbury next month...

Debbi I've got to say: I can't believe you don't feel confident to try for DT at Sugar Nellie: your cards are FABULOUS and you should go for it. What does Karen say? Life is not a dress rehearsal! Go Debbi go

Debbi, I know exactly where you are coming from on this one. I've left you a comment on your parents blog about my son. He hates change - he cannot cope with any deviation from his routine.
Love your craft blog, you are really talented.

Poor Scott, sorry I forgot to ask you how he was feeling about it all now....Good idea of Amanda's (scotspanda) taking a pic of him & Mrs D together & letting him decorate the frame?! x
