Last Day of School

Well already I'm a bubbling wreck! Bang goes my tough mum act! As some of you know, Willow has bowel issues due to a condition she was born with and she has been assigned a SFL (support for learners) assistant to help her with toileting and when she needs cleaned up or changed . So because it's quite an intimate thing, Willow and Jenny have a pretty good bond and have done for the last 2 years. Unfortunately, due to staffing issues, Jenny is moving to another school. And when she came over this morning to say goodbye to me and tell me how much she's going to miss Willow, and what a credit all my kids are to me - well I burst into tears. But I wished her luck in her new job and thanked her for all her help and care of Willow.
The kids are home from school now, I think it was pretty emotional, it was Scott's last day of Primary school ever, Willow adores Jenny and her teacher, and Faithy just comes out in sympathy with the other two. She has the same teacher again next year so she's not too bothered about breaking up for the holidays, Willow is devastated - she loves school and she's made me promise to give her school work to do over the holidays, although I have a feeling that won't actually happen lol.
So to celebrate the last day of school, here's a sample I made for the Papeterie, featuring "winking student" from the Simply Sassy range.
Image: Winking Student Simply Sassy from Sugar Nellie
coloured with promarkers: Burnt Orange, Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush, Black, Walnut, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Tan, Gold, Burgundy, Cardinal Red, Pear Green, Olive Green, Powder Blue
Flexmarkers: Light Fawn, Antique White
Diamond White and Kraft card from The Papeterie
Tim Holtz embossing folder
Hero Arts Greeting, twill ribbon and wooden button from stash (button coloured with promarkers)
I'd like to enter her into...

Hi Debbi, Fab card and image, love the embossed background. Good luck with the hols. I always loved the hols, no needing to be here there and everywhere! Enjoy. Carolxx

Stunning card Debbi, the image is gorgeous and coloured sooooo beautifully. I love the cute apple button.
It's a shame that Willow's assistant is moving to a different school, I'm not surprised you are both upset.
I hope you all enjoy the school holidays.

Time passes so quick Debbi, and honestly, once they're at academy it goes even faster. I have a few friends who work in schools and the continuing cuts are a disgrace. On a lighter note, your card is gorgeous. Enjoy the hols. xx

Your kids are really growing up Debbi. Imagine Scott leaving primary school now. What a shame Willow has to lose the SFL she's used to because of staffing issues. No wonders she's upset and upsetting for Jenny too. Hope Willow gets someone that she bonds with as well next term.

I had a pic of Poppy yesterday at the nursery gate on her last day there. At least they'll get a wee breather as Oliver's birthday is in November so he won't go to nursery till January!!

Enjoy your summer hols with the kids.

Oops I nearly forgot to say great card Debbi. Ideal for a thank you teacher or helper card.

Kat xx

Aww bless it's horrible for them when the end of term comes and they've really bonded with a teacher/helper. I'm sure that the relationships they make next term will be just as strong. Beautiful card too. Mel :o)

Super the way that embossing & kraft sets of the image - the spotty grounding works brilliantly with the embossing. I do hope that Willow's replacement is able to build up an equally good relationship & I'm not surprised you were/are tearful. There are times when tough Mum is not possible!
With much love
