Sugar Nellie Blog Hop - A Recipe For All Seasons

woohoo, it's blog hop day and boy am I excited to be a part of this.
Now, if you've stumbled across my blog and are wondering what all the fuss is, then have a wee jaunt over to the Sugar Nellie blog where you will find out all about this special Recipe For All Seasons hop. You'll then be directed to each of the Sugar Nellie DT and a few guests to see what we've created to show off to you.
So if you're on track, you'll have just left Sarah's blog, and once you've left a wee comment for me then you can hop on over to see what the fabulous Donalda has cooked up for you.

Have you noticed all the cooking/baking references yet? yup, the theme is A Recipe For All Seasons, and that's exactly what Sugar Nellie stamps are, and in keeping with the theme all the DT and Guests have made up recipes so you can recreate their creations yourselves.
SO without further ado, straight from the oven (aka, the craft room)....

Ingredients,
Promarkers: Pastel Green, Mint Green, Soft Green, Powder Blue, Arctic Blue, Poppy, Crimson, Burgundy, Pumpkin, Bright Orange, Holly, Cool Grey 3 & 4, Vanilla and Raw Sienna.
Glamour Dust & Quickie Glue Pen
1 sheet of My Minds Eye - I Believe paper
1 6x6 card blank (alternatively cut card to 12x6" and score halfway along long edge to make your own blank)
7" red gingham ribbon
scraps of core'dinations card (gemstone green, gemstone white and poinsettia)
card candy

Method:
  1. Colour the Snowman with Gift with promarkers
  2. Add Glamour Dust to trim, ribbons and buckle using Quickie Glue Pen
  3. Mat the coloured image onto the reverse side of the MME paper and trim to leave a narrow border.
  4. Cut a square of the MME paper to approx 5.5" square, mat this onto the reverse side of the remaining paper and trim to leave a narrow border all around.
  5. Adhere the length of ribbon down the left hand side of your matted square and secure the ends on the reverse
  6. Adhere this matted square to a card blank
  7. Adhere your matted image in the top right hand corner of the card
  8. Die cut a flower, leaves and swirls from the scraps of card and attach these to the bottom right hand corner of the card with 3d foam pads, adding card candy to the centre of the flower to decorate.

I was so excited about joining the blog hop that I got a bit carried away with these gorgeous Home Grown Snowmen stamps and used another one to make a decorated photo frame....

I coloured Snow Juggler with promarkers to match the previous one and carefully cut him out, including the snowballs, then glued him to the frame that I'd covered with the same MME I Believe paper. I used 3d foam pads to attach the snowballs for a bit of dimension.
I'm hoping I haven't bored you to tears, so just in case you missed it earlier in my post, you need to make your way over to Donalda's blog to see her fantabulous creation - have fun hopping and thankyou in advance for leaving a comment, I really appreciate them.

Edited to add: For Linda, the dies used to cut the flowers and the intricate leaves underneath it are all one set - Flower Fantasy Die Set by Marianne Design Creatables, the swirls were punched with Large Wave Flourish punch by EK Success

Bored - you must be joking. You've given me some glorious ideas about matting, it's not until you see a recipe in detail like this that you suddenly realise there are different ways of doing something you've always done yourself another way. Love both your projects - must admit I'm viewing snowmen in a different light after this. Thanks so much.

This is a beautiful card and photo frame, Debbi. It was so sweet of that precious baby to join in the spirit and raise his little arms just like the snowman. I am hoping that you will tell us the exact dies you used to make that beautiful flower piece on the bottom edge of your card. I especially like the fine detail cut-out shape done in the blue-green. Thanks for your reply, I will check back, as I am sure other crafter's are hoping for the same information. Linda S. in NE
