Looking back and looking forward

Well, it's the last day of the year and it's been eventful.

WOYWW

well I haven't joined in at WOYWW for ages and ages, and the way my desk looked this morning I wasn't planning to join in today either. My poor crafty desk has been used as a dumping ground over the last couple of weeks and there was no telling what all was on it.
So I took a bit of a brainstorm and had a tidy up - am planning a bit of a clear out too so look out for some candy soon.

And of course what happens when you have a nice tidy desk? well it just makes you want to start crafting again doesn't it? so I emptied out the contents of the latest Angel Crafts ribbon kit - "a touch of pink" so I could be inspired. Aren't all those pink ribbons and bits n bobs so mouthwateringly tempting? Couldn't resist covering those beautiful twiddly Tando Creative butterfly shapes with glamour dust. And have you spotted the wee machine I got from Santa?

sorry about the shockingly bad photo - no daylight and used my phone.

So if you fancy joining in the fun, hop on over to Julia's blog and have a nosey round everyone else's desks

Here's the Touch of Pink ribbon kit contents:

1 pack of Kaisercraft Rhinestones in soft pink,
1 pack of Prima Annalee clear stamps,
2 x Chipboard Butterflies from Tando Creative,
3 x Butterflies from Jenni Bowlin,
2 x Prima Blossoms,
1m vertical pink stripe ribbon from May Arts,
1m pink/white stripe ribbon from May Arts,
1m pink sheer with white spots from May Arts,
1m sheer flower ribbon from May Arts,
1m Pale Pink Grosgrain from Berisfords,
1m pink sheer from Berisfords,
1m hot pink satin from Berisfords and
1m pink satin from berisfords
All served in a pretty organza bag

Merry Xmas Eve

Merry Xmas Eve everyone, are you too excited yet? Well it's almost reached hysteria here, the girls especially are high as kites. So as soon as they've finished their tea I'll be dunking them in the bath, then teeth brushed and jammies on. And then they'll be sorting out the milk and cookies for santa and a carrot for Rudolph and the other reindeer, and hanging up their stockings and off to bed.

Have you all been tracking Santa? NORAD track him every year and the kids love to see where he is at any given time on Xmas Eve - you'll find him here.

Thankfully Graham got home from his oil-rig yesterday, and Tesco managed to deliver my groceries so I'm all set. Made my soup today - my version of Scotch Broth (I use ham stock instead of mutton), and it's fabulous even if I do say so myself :)

Do you want to know who won my candy?
well, congratulations Fluffles, it's you! If you email me your address I'll pop it in the post as soon as we get the car out of here again. I managed to go out on Tuesday with quite a bit of help, but we've had several more inches of snow since then. Graham tried to get out last night and couldn't get anywhere.
Many thanks to everyone who entered and don't be disheartened if you didn't win this time - I'll be offering some more candy after xmas - because I think everyone needs a little cheering up after all the excitement of xmas is past.

So, Merry Xmas everyone - I hope you get all you wish for. Me? I'll also be celebrating the fact that it will be exactly 5 months since I had my last cigarette tomorrow :D

My Christmas Candy

This candy is now closed - thankyou for all your entries :)

Hiya,
anyone up for a little christmas candy?
well I thought I'd put together some of my favourite things and give away a little candy for my followers. If you don't already follow me then just do it now :)
All you have to do is be a follower and leave me a comment on this post telling me what the best xmas present you've ever received is and post about this candy in your sidebar and  I'll randomly draw a winner on Xmas Eve.

So what can you win?
well my 2 favourite crafty things in the world are Sugar Nellie stamps and Letraset Promarkers so.....
and my favourite stamp for demonstrating colouring techniques....

And to go with those beautiful stamps, well you'll need something to colour them in with, how about some Promarkers...

An Eclipse

well I didn't see the lunar eclipse this morning, cos I was too busy photographing the sunrise. The sun was scarlet this morning, and at this time of year it is stunning to watch the sun rise over the North Sea...

snow

Have you entered my candy? click here to enter before xmas eve

well the kids are off school again today - going by the announcement on the local council website, our head teacher is still optimistic that they'll open tomorrow though (can't see it myself) There is now a backlog of flights at the heliport so it's starting to look a bit dodgy for Graham getting home on the 23rd. And I'm not sure if Tesco are even going to attempt my delivery on the 23rd, if they don't well it'll be beans on toast or maybe just beans for xmas dinner

Here's some more things I haven't shared with you, these are another 2 of my entries for the Cardmaking and Papercraft mag's Cardmaker of the Year competition. This first one was for the LOTV category...

Image is of course from Lili of the Valley, coloured with promarkers
papers are craftwork cards and stampin' up, cardstock is core'dinations, ribbon, pins, button and greeting all from my stash

This was my entry to the Sizzix category...
butterfly was made by sticking various ribbons onto light card and using a Sizzix Bigz butterfly die to cut out.
the leaf/stem paper is Bo Bunny, the lattice paper is Wild Rose Studio, cardstock is core'dinations, string from stash and the greeting is Hero Arts.

Stay safe and warm everyone

Ruby Wedding

I don't think I ever shared the mini album thingy I made for my mum and dad's ruby wedding anniversary. They celebrated 40 years of marriage at the end of November so I thought I'd make them a keepsake.

ribbons are all from Angel Crafts or from my stash
the brown and red core'dinations card is Jenni Bowlin from Simply Create
the stamps are all Hero Arts
patterned paper is MME Lost & Found, Union Square and glitter paper from Simply Create
I just want to thank Anne at Simply Create very much for helping me select supplies for this album - Anne you were a fantastic help and the MME paper was just the perfect choice!
As you can see, I'm not much of a scrapbooker - but mum was chuffed to bits with it and dad thought the group photo was highly amusing

I'd like to enter it into the following challenges...
Allsorts Challenge - anything goes
Crafty Catz - anything but a card #41
Paper Play Challenges - anything bit a card

have you entered my xmas candy yet? only 5 days left to enter.

New Baby 1
