that's Frequently Asked Questions about Girls Just Want To have Fun craft days
I'm often asked lots of questions about our GJWTHF craft days, so I thought I'd post them here to clear things up.
So if there is ever anything you wanted to know about our crafty days then don't be scared to ask, I dinna bite!
I'm a cardmaker/scrapbooker, are these crafty days suitable for me?
Absolutely, the techniques and products that we use for our projects can be translated to a range of different crafts
I'm a beginner/intermediate/experienced crafter, what about me?
Yes, we think that we cater for all abilities.
Do we bring anything with us?
No, just yourself :) If you have a favourite pair of scissors then feel free to take them along with you but we don't have the space to accommodate everyone taking a tote with them. We provide all the materials and tools you'll need on the day.
What about payment, can I pay cash/card on the day?
Sorry, no, we need to be able to plan, prepare and kit ahead of time so please send a cheque in advance, when you reserve your place you will be sent booking info which tells you when we need your payment.
What, exactly will we be making on the day?
That's Top Secret I'm afraid :) But you will be making 3 unique projects that you won't see anywhere else. Keep a look out on the Facebook Page and Kath, Anne and Debbi's blogs for sneaky peeks.
I can't attend, but can I buy a kit instead?
- We make up a limited number of kits and these are exclusively available only to people who attend the crafty days, sorry.
So what actually happens on the day?
You arrive at 9.30am so we can get you all settled in and you can all have a tea/coffee then we split you into 3 groups and each group sits down for a 2 hour workshop with either Kath, Anne or Debbi. We then have a break for lunch - we lay on a simple buffet lunch and refreshments. Then the afternoon is spent doing another 2 x 2 hour workshops with the other 2 tutors. So you will be going home with 3 unique projects and hopefully you'll have had lots of fun.
Kath Stewart designs and demonstrates for Fiskars, and is on the design teams for Craftwork Cards, The Ribbon Girl and Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Kath regularly demonstrates and teaches techniques using her favourite Hero Arts and Tim Holtz products
Anne Tindall runs her own shop, The Sew Room at Alford where she holds regular sewing workshops featuring her own designs, as well as selling the latest fabrics, Annie Sloan paints, and gifts. Anne's blog is here and The Sew Room blog is here.
Debbi Glennie (that's me) designs for Letraset Ltd and Angel Crafts and regularly demonstrates and teaches Promarker, Flexmarker and alcohol ink techniques.
