Neon Markers Winner

Well it seems I'm still  not getting time to blog regularly - with Uni deadlines, and craft jobs, kids and pets all getting in the way lol. And this week isn't going to be any better - Pepsi has the vet, Willow has the hospital, Faith has the hospital, Willow has a haircut - which, believe me when I say is a major ordeal, Graham's home this week and I'm pretty sure I have a hospital appt too - just need to find the letter under all my paperwork, and I also have to prep for the fabulous Christmas papercraft Extravaganza at The Papeterie on the 7th . Argh, it's looking like things are going to be pretty full on this week lol
I'm not complaining though, I'd get bored pretty quick if I had nothing to do.
So, I'm here to announce the winner of the neon marker set. Mr Random.org selected number 6 which is Chrissie Taft - well done Chrissie, please email me before noon on Tuesday with your address and I'll get them out to you this week.

Don't worry if you didn't win this time - I have another pack to give away soon.

Sneaky Peeks

Only 2 more sleeps until the Craft Retreat at The Papeterie kicks off, and we're all so excited about it. I nipped over to the Papeterie yesterday morning to get a few last minute things for kitting and as I walked through the door Charlotte said "oh good, you can help too" .... so after I'd finished my egg mcmuffin and my latte, I was set to work: reorganising stock and cleaning shelves along with Charlotte, Meagan and Pearl. So by the weekend the place is going to be so jam-packed with new stock and looking fab.
So I thought I'd share a couple of sneaky peeks with you today - I'm teaching 4 workshops this weekend and here's 2 of them....
yes Kath, those are naked button - don't freak out :)

All my workshops have a floral theme this time - not my usual style, all very different but all VERY pretty. I have a promarker workshop, a flexmarker workshop, a workshop featuring the use of promarkers and flexmarkers together and last but not least an alcohol ink workshop.
I'd like to give Letraset a big thankyou for sending us supplies for the workshops and also some great products for the Craft Retreat Raffle. :)
Right, I better go - have to take the kids to school then I'm taking my pal to collect her new kitten, so you know how I'm gonna spend the rest of the morning :)

Sweet 16

Morning folks, well Autumn is definitely here - the garden already has a light layer of dead leaves, and I had to have the heating on all day yesterday. But enough of the doom of gloom. Today I want to share a commission card with you.
I was asked to make a 16th birthday card for a friends' niece's birthday, she's apparently a bit of a shopaholic so I went for this image from KennyKDownloads

Image: Madison Attitude from KennykDownloads, coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers
1 & 6 are Typography stamps from Papermania, stamped with various colours of Memento Ink
white and blue card from The Papeterie

Here's a close up
I'd like to enter her into:
Redonkulous Challenge - celebration (link to the Redonkulous store)

right, I'd better get on - tv delivery guys are on their way, then I'm off with my pal to get kitten things cos she's reserved a kitten - he's the cutest little thing, it almost makes me broody......ALMOST lol

1000th post and a winner

Argh, it's taking me longer than planned to get back into the swing of blogging. I have loads of work commitments at the moment, and it's not leaving me a lot of time to do things I can show on the blog. But enough of that, I have lots of news to share....
I thought you'd like to hear about some upcoming events at The Papeterie
Firstly, the very special, and very first Craft Retreat will be going ahead between Friday 21st and Sunday 23rd September - not long now. We're really excited about this: Kath, Erika and myself have some fab workshops lined up. If you're interested in joining us I think Charlotte just might be able to squeeze one or two more people in - there are workshop packages available with and without accommodation.
Next I'll be teaming up with Kath and Charlotte to bring you our Christmas Papercraft Extravaganza - on Sunday 7th October. Make 3 papercraft projects during this fun day with the 3 of us - buffet lunch included. There are still places available - look out for sneak peeks coming soon here, and on Kath's and The Papeterie's blogs.
On Saturday 20th October I'll be demonstrating Christmas Spellbinders dies and embossing folders, and teaching a Christmas Spellbinders class in the afternoon from 1.30pm - 3.30pm.
Then on Sunday 21st October I have an intermediate Promarker/Flexmarker class from 1-3pm - this class is for people who have previously attended one of my beginner/basics promarker classes.
To book any of the classes at the Papeterie, please call 01224 802337

I have more exciting news for you.... Letraset have released 20 new colours to the Aquamarker range (there were previously 40 including the blender) Lookout for a wee tutorial from me on the Letraset blog tomorrow.
Now you all know how I like my colour charts, so I made this one up to include all 60 aquamarkers. There is plenty of space to fill in the colours, I've made the spaces extra large because I coloured directly onto the colour chart with each colour, then used an acrylic block and a water brush to colour the other half of the space. And of course I printed the chart onto water colour paper for a true representation of the colours. A wee note of warning though - inkjet ink tends to be water based, so make sure you don't touch the lines or colour names with the water brush :)You can get the download link for the blank chart here.

Before I go, I'd better pick a winner for the Limited Edition 2012 Autumn promarker pack...... Mr Random.org selected number 11 which is Linda Simpson, congratulations Linda, please email me before noon on Friday and I'll get your prize out to you as soon as I can.   Winner will be redrawn

Don't forget to pop back tomorrow for another giveaway - it's gonna be a big one :)

Hobbycraft, Falkirk

Yesterday was an early start - got up at dark o'clock and off to Portlethen Railway Station - where it looked quieter than usual.......
A big thank you to everyone who came to see me at the Falkirk Hobbycraft store - I hope you took away lots of hints and tips to improve your colouring :)

I had a great day - I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping others to enjoy their crafting. I always meet people who own at least some promarkers, but who don't use them and I love encouraging them to use them and giving them the confidence to start playing.

Something that always tickles me about Hobbycraft stores, are the slogans and artwork in the toilets...
Not exactly sure what they want me to create with in the toilet though :s lol
And it made my day to see 2 friends I've not seen in ages. My good friend Mar, who I haven't seen in a couple years came along to surprise me with her youngest son so it was great to catch up albeit briefly with them. And also a girl I went to school with and haven't seen since 1998 - she hasn't changed a bit and we definitely need to catch up more often.
So this week I'll be busy busy with prep for my demo and class this weekend at The Papeterie, and some work for the Letraset blog, hopefully I'll get some sneaky peeks up.
Hope you've all had a super weekend - roll on Friday :)
Remember to enter my promarker giveaway - theres just a day and a half left to enter.
