CCSR Limited Supplies Challenge #4 - TY Beckie!

Some of you know that I resisted rubber stamping for a long time, as I had an inkling it would be an expensive hobby - well, more expensive than all the other stuff I do. But I fell in love first with Sugar Nellie and then Whiff of Joy stamps, and since then I've been neglecting my scrapbooking

You may also know that my biggest scrapbooking influence comes from a wonderful lady called Beckie Dreyer. Her beautiful layouts are totally inspiring and she's a lovely person to boot.

I was so chuffed to see that she has joined the DT over at the CCSR Challenge blog, so I now have 3 of my favourite inspirational ladies in one place (Kath, Clare & Beckie)

Anyway, Beckie has given me a bit of a kick up the bum to get back into scrapbooking, so after a 6 month break this is what I came up with... (btw, thank you Beckie, that was the kick up the bum that I needed)

This week's challenge over at CCSR is DIY patterned papers, so I stamped the CCSR doodles butterflies  all over a piece of pale turquoise cardstock in blue papermania ink pad and heat embossed with clear papermania embossing powder. I cut the patterned cardstock to size and distressed and inked the edges, then attached it to the top left corner of a 12x12 piece on ten'tations core'dinations card that came in a do-crafts goodie bag a wee while back.

I layered the photo of Willow with her face painted as a butterfly onto yellow core'dinations card and added 3 turquoise brads from the new papermania embellishment trios (free in the current do-crafts goodie bag) then attached it to the bottom left of the patterned card square using 3d foam tape.

I roughly sketched a wavy line in pencil down the right hand side of the page as a guide for the title. Then attached Doodlebug Loopy Lou adhesive cardstock letters to spell out the title, using the pencil line to line it up.

I added some paper flowers and buttons from the papermania embellishment trio and some papermania shimmer dots to some of the flowers.

The journalling spot was cut from the same turquoise card stock, the edges were distressed and inked as before, and the butterfly was stamped, heat embossed and cut out - then attached with 3d foam tape.
