12 Tags of 2013 - March

Well I'm skidding in here - the coo's tail this month with my entry for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2013. It took me a while to get this tag done this month - I got the label with the bunny and tinsel done, then it took me another week before I got around to finishing it off. So this is what I was aiming for this month.....
And this is my version - with a couple of wee adapt-and-overcome tweaks :)
I didn't have the seasonal stash, so I cut up the front cover of the Kraft Resist Paper Stash and coloured it with Peeled Paint and Broken China Distress Stains, I cut the grass by hand as I don't have that die, or the banner die, so again I tore the banner by hand.
I also didn't have the right colours of Distress paint to colour the metalwork, so I tinted the Distress Paint I do have on the craft mat with a drop of alcohol ink :)

Have a happy easter everyone

12 Tags of 2013 - February

Morning folks,
well I've scheduled this post because I'm working at Stitches today, demonstrating for Letraset. So I thought I'd share my attempt at February's tag.
As I'm sure you all know, this is Tim Holtz's second year of  12 monthly tags and I'm trying my best this year to join in as I didn't manage any of them last year. This is what I'm attempting to do...

Now there are quite a few components of this tag that I don't have so I treated myself to the 2 colours of Distress Stain and the cash keys, so this is my version ...

and a couple close-ups of the details...

12 Tags of 2013 - January

Well, I don't do New year's Resolutions, but I have promised myself that I'd give Tim's 12 Tags of 2013 a bash this year, so I managed to make some time over the weekend to have a go at the first tag of the year. Now this was a wee exercise in adapt and overcome because I don't have all things Tim Holtz, more's the pity. But I did spend some of my xmas gift vouchers at The papeterie yesterday and treated myself to these lovely goodies...

So that inspired me to get all grungy when I got home.
I don't have any grunge paper, so I substituted it with grungeboard, so that gives it a bit more dimension. I didn't have the exact stamps or even the manila tags so I used what I did have.
Here's a few close-ups.. firstly of the grungeboard gears which I coloured with Letraset Metallic Markers instead of metallic distress stain. I also used some metal foliage as I ran out of of metal gears...
Because I didn't have any manilla tags, I also didn't have the lovely washers thats they have, so I used some of Tim's reinforcers...and found this clock one which matched in with the theme of the tag...
And even though it's a wee bit blurry (do not adjust your set lol) I have used some of the stamps from the Attic Treasures set to stamp the seam binding, then coloured with Broken China Distress Stain...
So I'm quite chuffed with my first tag - and fingers crossed I manage to keep up with the rest of them.

p.s. you may have noticed that I didn't post over the weekend - I think I'm going to try to just post on weekdays in an attempt at keeping up the regular postings.
