Blue Snow?

No, there's no blue snow - just me doing some crafting lol, I know, it seems like ages doesn't it?
I'm determined to try and enter some of my favourite challenges more often this year - although I don't want to make any promises or resolution as we all know how that goes :S
Anyway, here is one of my favourite stamps from Sugar Nellie: Journey...
Image: Journey by Leanne Ellis for Sugar Nellie, coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers, greeting is from a great new greetings set from Woodware, papers are all Kaisercraft - Black & White Timeless which I have coloured with watered down Distress Ink (Faded Jeans) and Distress Stains (Peeled Paint and Picket Fence). I coloured the card candi (craftwork cards) with flexmarker and the eggshell seam binding is from Angel Crafts.
I'd like to enter her into:
Sugar Nellie FB group - blue green and white
The Sugar Bowl - sketch plus birthday
Stampin' for the Weekend - out with the old (papers, distress inks/stains, candi, image)
I Love Promarkers - anything goes

thanks for looking
I appreciate all your comments, so don't be shy

1st Boy Card of 2012

I've seen a couple of challenges this year so far that I wanted to enter and so I coloured this Whimsy Stamp from Angel Crafts up especially for them.
I'm told that I'm not bad at boys cards, and I must admit I quite like doing them - if you know me, you'll know that I'm really not a girly girl, I was always more of a tomboy when I was a kid - I certainly find them easier than the whole pink flowery thing.
Anyway, I'm sure you're not interested in me waffling on here, so here's the card....
Image: Teen Idol, greeting is from Film Strip Sentiments and I also used the matching Film Strip die , coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers
black and white card from The Papeterie, Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon. And of course the distressed edges were done with the Distrezz It All.
I'd like to enter him into the following challenges:
Enfys' Going Buggy Challenge - grey white and red
PfP - Thankyou
Fabulous Friday - no patterned paper
Cute Card Thursday - something new (stamps)
Sisterhood of Crafters - black white and 1 other colour
Deep Ocean Challenge - lots of white

Even More Stuff

Well I've still never got round to getting any crafting done and it's not looking good over the next week or so either, with tax return deadlines looming and an assignment due in too.
But I had a wee crafty sale splurge at Angel Crafts - Angela always has a fantastic sale and I could've gone completely nuts. But I've decided that I'm not going to buy any more papers this year until I've made a big dent in the ones I have..... I have 3 RUB 12x12 suspension boxes FULL of 12x12 papers that haven't been touched. In fact if anyone is interested I might just invest in some 12x12 pizza boxes and sell some of them.

Anyway, here's what I did splash out on - loads and loads of eggshell seam binding, bling and some Whimsy stamps and dies.

And just a wee heads up - the Glamour Dust is in the sale, and I don't know about you, but I can never have enough Glamour Dust, so well worth stocking up.

Short and sweet today - way too much to do, off to collect my Tesco clothing order from my local mini Tesco. Bought the girls new school jackets in the sale and a new robe for Scott cos his one is barely skimming his bum.... he grows far too quickly!

Thanks for looking

Home Sweet Home

Hello hello, it feels like ages since I blogged but it's only been a couple of days - I think it's cos I've been so busy.
And I've learned something - if I need to go to any shop then I need to remember to leave Willow at home with dad! She came with me yesterday when I popped over to The Papeterie and she proceeded to waltz round the shop filling a basket - she's becoming quite the wee crafter but she's costing me a fortune. But she has quite good taste, and I like the kanban stamps she picked out - you'll be seeing them soon.
The girls and I got our hair cut today, I bit the bullet and got about 6 inches hacked off mine - it was getting wayyyyyyy too long and unruly. Faith has decided she doesn't like her photograph taken anymore, and for someone who practically sticks her face up to the lens whenever a camera comes out this is quite a change of tune. And I took some sneaky ones of Willow, she looks so different with her hair straightened, I think she looks so grown up...
Now I should really have blogged this project when I made it, because I hung it up on my wardrobe door and forgot all about it - duh!
Now this gorgeous project is part of the Home Sweet Home ribbon kit from Angel Crafts...

Home Sweet Home chipboard shapes, white sheer ribbon with red dots, red sheer ribbon with white dots, red and white ricrac, red gingham ribbon are all from the HSH ribbon kit - all i added was white acrylic paint and some red flock to the roof and heart shapes.
Here's a close up to show you the pleated sheer ribbon, the ricrac and the flocked shapes.
I'm hoping to get some more samples made up tonight and tomorrow, and my mum and dad are coming to visit tomorrow - no rest for the wicked eh? lol

Lazy Sunday

well I am sat here in my dressing gown, having a lazy Sunday - yesterday's demo and class were a great success - and I'd like to thank all the ladies who came out to see me after the cancellation last week.

So today I'll just be sharing the rest of the samples I made - I've left these with Charlotte at The Papeterie. Talking of The Papeterie, Charlotte is running a fabulous competition - here's what you need to know...

Paper Artsy meets Promarkers

If you've been paying attention (and even if you haven't I doubt you missed the fact) you'll know that my super crafty chum Kath had the class of a lifetime with Tim Holtz - her idol. And the naughty lady brought Anne and myself some goodies home with her, including this gorgeous stamp set from Paper Artsy. Now this arty, grungy stuff isn't normally my style at all - but I'm definitely enjoying doing something new. Now these aren't the colouring-in type of stamps, but my trusty promarkers were not going to be made redundant in a hurry, so this is what I came up with...

I used Arctic Blue, Sky Blue, Azure and French Navy promarkers to colour a panel of card, then stamped the butterfly image from the Petals Plate 6 from PaperArtsy with versamark on top of my coloured background and heat embossed in black.
The smooth kraft and black card is all SU, the corrugated card is from Simply Create, the letters are kaisercraft from Merly Impressions and I used the letrajet with an Azure promarker, and a That Special Touch mask from Angel Crafts to make the polka dots on the corrugated kraft. And I nearly forgot the very bold MS Scroll Heart deep edge punch.

I'd like to enter this card into...
Flutterby Wednesday - open
Papertake Weekly - anything goes

Angel Crafts DT - Feb ribbon kit

Yay. it's the weekend! I'm dying to hear from Kath about her day with Tim Holtz yesterday - she's been counting down the days since there were 158 of them, and now it's all over! I was so excited for her that you would've thought I was going.

Anyway, I was on a mission the other day to get a load of stuff done so that I can get some samples done for my next demo and I got cracking with the February ribbon kit from Angel Crafts - it's a bumper black and white ribbon kit.
There are so many goodies in this kit it's hard to know where to start, but I jumped in and got going and these are the things I've come up with so far...

I've been searching all over the internet for this die, and accidentally stumbled across it in The Glitter Pot sale no less, so not only was it the last one in stock but it was less than half price - yay!

I used the Flower Stems clear stamps from Autumn Leaves and the 1/8" wide black with white dots ribbon from Berisfords from the kit

Next up is a butterfly card - I coloured some core'dinations card with promarkers before using a Marianne D Creatables die to make the butterfly.
I used black & white Grosgrain stripe/stitch from May Arts, black Grosgrain with white edged stitching from May Arts, black with white circles grosgrain from May Arts, black and white squares/stitched from May Arts, Lush Black rhinestones from MME which are all from the kit.
The greeting is from Craftwork Cards.

Back tomorrow with some Hero Arts cards
And don't forget to enter the Promarker Blending Pairs Competition - closes on Monday

Monday Blues

I'm not blue, it's the card and the fabby ribbon kit from Angel Crafts
Before I show you what I've done with it - have you entered my candy yet? you'll find it here

The tree, ribbon and swirly stamp are all in the January "Touch of Blue" kit
I painted the tree with white acrylic paint, then covered in glamour dust while it was wet. I used Versafine to stamp around the edges of the blue core'dinations cardstock and clear embossed. Then stamped some more with versafine and white embossed - the white embossing powder stuck to some of the already clear embossed parts, but I think it gives a kind of frosty effect.
I ran a length of double sided tape across the card then concertina'ed the ribbon along it, then machine stitched to secure it.
And finally the greeting is Kaisercraft

here's a close-up to let you see the glamour dust a bit better

Simply Sassy Calendar

I'm not one to make New Year Resolutions, but I have decided that I'm going to try my best to enter a select few challenge blogs on a regular basis this year. So of course The Sugar Bowl has to be top of that list of selected challenges as where would I be without my favourite Sugar Nellie stamps.

I made this calendar yesterday for the SFL teacher who runs the Lego Club that Scott goes to. Scott absolutely loves going, and I think every school/community should have a Lego Club. Anyway, she was over the moon with it.

Image: Hippie Chick from Sugar Nellie, coloured with promarkers.
Papers are Cosmo Cricket Earth Love, cardstock is all core'dinations, lace from Angel Crafts, card candy from Craftwork Cards
Here's a close-up to show you the image in more detail and also the embossed panel under it.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
The Sugar Bowl - sketch plus embossing
The Crafty Calendar Challenge - new beginnings (new year)
Cupcake Craft Challenges - something new (new year)

Angel Crafts DT - Touch of Pink

Hiya,
are you all sober yet? no??? lol

Well, back to normal and I thought I'd kick off the year with some samples from the Touch of Pink ribbon kit from Angel Crafts. If you haven't seen these kits before you can either subscribe and receive a monthly ribbon kit, or you can just buy them as and when you feel like it. And Angela makes up the most gorgeous selections - it's not just ribbons either. Every month is different but usually the kits also contain some bling, stamps, Tando Creative bits, blossoms, well you get the idea and they are such good value for money.

Angela also has a fabulous sale on across the store - so go have a nosey. What I like about the ribbon kits (and there are a few on sale) are they make fabulous gifts for crafty friends!

So, enough waffle, lets have a look at what I've done so far...
I used both the Tando Creative butterflies on tags/bookmarks because I wanted them to be the focus - I didn't want them to get lost in something busier. All I've done is covered them with Glamour Dust. I stamped the tags with Prima - Notary background stamp and pink chalk ink then added the butterflies and some of the narrow ribbons from the kit

I used one of the Prima blooms from the kit and the sheer pink polka dot ribbon. The cardstock is core'dinations but Angel Crafts stock a wide range of Bazzill. The doily is from my stash and the greeting is Ladybug Crafts which is also available at Angel Crafts. You'll see below that I stamped the greeting twice to give a shadow effect first with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and second with Memento Tuxedo Black

The close up of the cake slice box below was to show the stamped butterflies - I used the 3 butterfly stamps from the Prima set in the ribbon kit to stamp all over the box in pink chalk ink. It's easier to see in real life, but I can't seem to get a half decent photo.
I made the box with one of the Sizzix XL dies - yes they work fine in the cuttlebug, you just need the cuttlebug extended cutting plates as the Big Shot ones are fractionally too wide. I added some ribbon from the kit and the bling is Kaisercraft (available at AC) The Jenni Bowlin butterfly is also from the kit

And last but not least is this card, now the idea was to make it look like a noticeboard and have the images "pinned" to the board. The images are Dancing Nikki and  Original Nikki were coloured with promarkers and both the markers and images are available from Angel Crafts. The ribbon is from the kit and the greeting is from Ladybug Crafts. The bling is also from the ribbon kit.

WOYWW

well I haven't joined in at WOYWW for ages and ages, and the way my desk looked this morning I wasn't planning to join in today either. My poor crafty desk has been used as a dumping ground over the last couple of weeks and there was no telling what all was on it.
So I took a bit of a brainstorm and had a tidy up - am planning a bit of a clear out too so look out for some candy soon.

And of course what happens when you have a nice tidy desk? well it just makes you want to start crafting again doesn't it? so I emptied out the contents of the latest Angel Crafts ribbon kit - "a touch of pink" so I could be inspired. Aren't all those pink ribbons and bits n bobs so mouthwateringly tempting? Couldn't resist covering those beautiful twiddly Tando Creative butterfly shapes with glamour dust. And have you spotted the wee machine I got from Santa?

sorry about the shockingly bad photo - no daylight and used my phone.

So if you fancy joining in the fun, hop on over to Julia's blog and have a nosey round everyone else's desks

Here's the Touch of Pink ribbon kit contents:

1 pack of Kaisercraft Rhinestones in soft pink,
1 pack of Prima Annalee clear stamps,
2 x Chipboard Butterflies from Tando Creative,
3 x Butterflies from Jenni Bowlin,

1m vertical pink stripe ribbon from May Arts,
1m pink/white stripe ribbon from May Arts,

Ruby Wedding

I don't think I ever shared the mini album thingy I made for my mum and dad's ruby wedding anniversary. They celebrated 40 years of marriage at the end of November so I thought I'd make them a keepsake.

ribbons are all from Angel Crafts or from my stash
the brown and red core'dinations card is Jenni Bowlin from Simply Create
the stamps are all Hero Arts
patterned paper is MME Lost & Found, Union Square and glitter paper from Simply Create
I just want to thank Anne at Simply Create very much for helping me select supplies for this album - Anne you were a fantastic help and the MME paper was just the perfect choice!
As you can see, I'm not much of a scrapbooker - but mum was chuffed to bits with it and dad thought the group photo was highly amusing

I'd like to enter it into the following challenges...
Allsorts Challenge - anything goes
Crafty Catz - anything but a card #41
Paper Play Challenges - anything bit a card

have you entered my xmas candy yet? only 5 days left to enter.
