Catch Up 2

Another catch up post for you, this time it's my Promarker/Flexmarker workshop from the other week at The Papeterie....
First up was a Beginners promarker/flexmarker class - we coloured a few different images: a character stamp, a floral stamp and a teddy bear stamp. This was to give the class a feel for various different applications, how to blend and add texture.....

Bonus Evening Class

For all the ladies who had booked the accommodation package for the Craft Retreat, we threw in an optional bonus evening class, so this is where we had our evening meal and then our class....
But before we got crafty, we got to stuff our faces - wasn't going to bother with dessert, but decided the Bailey's Chocolate Pot needed some love.....
So for the bonus class I decided to introduce the ladies to some quick and easy water-based marker techniques using Letraset Aquamarkers, Neon markers and Metallic markers. Here's the first sample I made using Neon markers, the Tim Holtz Fanciful Flight die, watercolour paper and I used some PB stamps but the ladies used Marion Emberson "Sunshine & Flowers" stamps...
the ladies had free reign to use the aquamarkers and neon markers and here are some of the lovely samples they made with these stamps and the butterfly die... from Louise, Anda and Meg (please click on each to see them larger)

for the second tag, I went for a grungier look using Metallic Markers, Tim Holtz mini blueprint stamps and Tim Holtz Gadget Gears die cut grungeboard.
and here's some samples from Louise and Meg....

Another one :)

Time for another tag, but I can only give you a sneaky peek here, all the details are over on the letraset blog.
I went with a warm colour scheme because I'm not enjoying this snow at all, I much prefer the heat. So hopefully here's some inspiration for you to dig out your water based markers - Aquamarkers and Metallic markers and get creating :)

Another Tag

While I was playing the other night, making tags - I came away with this one, this time I used a combination of Aquamarkers and Metallic Markers
Firstly I clear embossed a Tim Holtz stamp onto a Manila tag, the same as before, then I scribbled some Aquamarkers onto the craft sheet - I used: Periwinkle, Saltwater, Twilight Blue and Dusky Plum. I then used 3 of the Metallic markers to stamp the Hero Arts flower stamp and the Tim Holtz stamp onto the tag once the Aquamarker background was dry, I used Light Green, Blue and Violet Metallic Markers. I used the same 3 Metallic Markers to also colour the lace trim, the seam binding ribbon and the wooden heart buttons.
Here are a couple of close ups taken to show off the Metallic Markers...

I'd like to enter it into:
City Crafter Challenge - winter blues
Inky Chicks - anything goes
Loves rubber stamps - cute as a button
Cupcake Craft - anything but a card
Kaboodle Doodles - buttons
Make It Monday - anything goes
My Craft Spot - anything goes

12 Tags of 2013 - January

Well, I don't do New year's Resolutions, but I have promised myself that I'd give Tim's 12 Tags of 2013 a bash this year, so I managed to make some time over the weekend to have a go at the first tag of the year. Now this was a wee exercise in adapt and overcome because I don't have all things Tim Holtz, more's the pity. But I did spend some of my xmas gift vouchers at The papeterie yesterday and treated myself to these lovely goodies...

So that inspired me to get all grungy when I got home.
I don't have any grunge paper, so I substituted it with grungeboard, so that gives it a bit more dimension. I didn't have the exact stamps or even the manila tags so I used what I did have.
Here's a few close-ups.. firstly of the grungeboard gears which I coloured with Letraset Metallic Markers instead of metallic distress stain. I also used some metal foliage as I ran out of of metal gears...
Because I didn't have any manilla tags, I also didn't have the lovely washers thats they have, so I used some of Tim's reinforcers...and found this clock one which matched in with the theme of the tag...
And even though it's a wee bit blurry (do not adjust your set lol) I have used some of the stamps from the Attic Treasures set to stamp the seam binding, then coloured with Broken China Distress Stain...
So I'm quite chuffed with my first tag - and fingers crossed I manage to keep up with the rest of them.

p.s. you may have noticed that I didn't post over the weekend - I think I'm going to try to just post on weekdays in an attempt at keeping up the regular postings.
