Sugar Bowl Challenge #9 - Men!

This challenge at the Sugar Bowl had me groaning - I usually struggle with cards for men and boys, BUT one of the wee boys at Scott's Lego club is celebrating his birthday on Monday and his mum is providing them with cake, juice and sweets so I thought I'd make a birthday card for him.

The image is one that Mar kindly stamped up for me and is called Rockstar, from the Luca and Nellie range at Sugar Nellie. And the papers I chose are ones that I'm not a great fan of, Cupcake from Basic Grey, but they seem to work well with the image.

Get Well Soon Matthew

As I mentioned the other day, my BFF's eldest son is in the hospital with an eye injury and I wanted to make him a card to try and cheer him up when he gets the patches off. Willow spent the evening with me doing her own cards, even using the cuttlebug to add a bit of texture! But kept getting frustrated because she can write her own name, but she can't get to grips with writing Matthew yet.

Anyway, Matthew is 15 and as you can imagine, its not easy making any kind of card for a teenage boy, because lets face it - according to him (and his mum, come to think of it) card-making is pretty gay lol

I was racking my brains for an idea for his card when Pamela mentioned nurses, so I trawled the internet looking for a suitable "Hot Nurse" image for his card and this is what I eventually settled on. Believe me, you really don't want to see the results you get by entering Hot Nurse into Google!!

red and grey card are both core'dinations, the grey card has been embossed using the Paisley folder in the Cuttlebug, red card (and image) was cut using oval scallop (and oval) nesties.
