Tattered Floral Challenge

I couldn't pick a favourite out of all the Tim Holtz Alterations dies I have, but certainly the one that gets used the most has to be Tattered Florals, so I've been itching to join in with Tim's Tattered Floral Challenge. Unfortunately my crafting time has seriously disappeared now that I'm working, but the local Brownies asked if I'd come along and do Mother's Day cards with them.
They asked me last year if I'd do Father's Day cards with them, so I planned out a card and pre-cut all the elements with a sample all made up to show them step-by-step what to do. But teaching kids is very different to teaching adults.... if I showed a group of 30 adults how to make this card I would end up with 30 near identical cards, but with the kids, we ended up with 30 completely different cards, and I was sooooo impressed with their imagination. So, lesson learned from last year, I decided to die cut a mahoosive amount of Tattered Florals, brought along some shaped card blanks, some buttons and a stamped greeting banner and let them do their own thing. As predicted, we ended up with about 30 completely different and unique cards. When they spotted me curling the petals with the back of a pair of scissors, I ended up with a queue of Brownies lined up wanting me to show them how to do it :)
Sadly I couldn't take a picture of the Brownies with their creations, but I did take pics of my girls ( Willow and Faith) with their cards...

Faithy even decorated the envelope....

And I made a card for my mum too........
You still have over a week to join in with the Tattered Floral challenge.

Passion for Promarkers #43 - Sketch

It's my turn to pick the theme for Passion for Promarkers this week, so I thought I'd choose something that I know is popular - a sketch. And you can also use ANY COLOURS. I have the very hard task this week of choosing 5 Promarker Passionistas from all the entries, so I can't wait to see all your creations again this week.
And you could win a 5-pack of promarkers, so what are you waiting for?

Have you also entered the Digi Friday giveaway over on the Weekend Workshop? Every week we publish a digital image tutorial and one of our digi stamp sponsors is offering a super prize for one lucky commenter. Last Friday was my turn to publish a tutorial, using the "Smelling the Cherry Blossoms" image from Fred She Said. This is the image I've used for my card.

Papers are all from the new BG Kioshi collection, cardstock is core'dinations, broderie anglais trim from stash and I did the greeting on the computer.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there, I hope you're having a wonderful, pampered and relaxed day.

I made this card for a commission for an old school chum (Hi Mike!) and decided to use the Whiff of Joy Challenge #22 rules  which are to use green, to kill two birds with one stone.

The flower inside was punched with Woodware Daisy punches from the Daisy & Dandelion papers

The verse inside reads:

Here's wish you a Mother's Day,

That's filled with every pleasure,

And a future that's as happy,

As the memories you treasure.

The Sugar Bowl - Challenge 6 - Mothers Day

Here's the mother's day card I made for my own mum and also for the Sugar Bowl challenge 6.

I've kept it quick and simple really as I'm short of time. I had a commission to do for mothers day for an old school friend, I'll post it on Sunday, and a commission for one of the ladies from Crossroads that helps me with Willow's washouts - it was a 40th birthday card for her chum, and I'll be posting it on Friday.
