SWALK samples 2

It's day 2 of my SWALK samples - as I said yesterday, I'll be demoing from 10.30am at The Papeterie this Saturday 12th March so pop along and have a nosey, the class in the afternoon is full, but I have a class on the 16th April which still has places available.

Passion for Promarkers #49 - Sketch & Handmade Flowers

Where oh where does the time go? the weekend passed quicker than the speed of light!

As it's Tuesday morning, we've another new challenge for you over at Passion for Promarkers - this week Michele has given us a super sketch to work from as well as the additional item - handmade flowers, which is one of Michele's specialities.

I decided to turn Michele's sketch on it's side so that the oblong of the image worked a bit better. I made this card for a bloggy buddy and the MIL of Sarah, one of my teamies at PfP - the very talented Fiona who is under the weather at the moment and in hospital. So, get well soon Fi!!

The papers are all Kaisercraft Peachy Keen from Angel Crafts, the peach cardstock is core'dinations, the greeting is a Hero Arts stamp and the wee pearls are from Hobbycraft. The handmade flowers were punched using 2 EK Success retro flower punches and embossed on the reverse.

A week of operations

well this week turned into a bit of a week for operations, as you already know, Pepsi had her operation on Tuesday, then my dad phoned me to say he was going in to hospital on Thursday and having his operation on Friday. My dad had a heart attack near the end of November last year and had been scheduled to have his operation at the beginning of January but it was cancelled as he had a cold.
So on Friday morning my dad had a triple heart bypass operation.
And I'm pleased to say it went very well, I was in to see him last night and he looks incredibly well. It was a bit distressing to see him all hooked up to monitors, drips, drains, catheters and pumps. I think he had 4 canulas in as well as a central line and he had an oxtgen mask on too. Mum phoned me this afternoon and he's got the drains out and is able to move around now so he's a lot happier. Its such a relief I can tell you. My dad is only 67 and has been active all his life.
Anyway, here's the quick get well card I made for him.

Its half term here at the moment, the kids were off on Friday and they are off this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday too. Today we mostly had a lazy day, the kids were all playing with their DS and DSi's .....

Willow was playing with Faith's fisherprice World of Little People...

And Pepsi was none too impressed with her lampshade...

And I was spoiled again for Valentine's Day, Graham got me these beautiful roses and lilies, a box of Thornton's choccies and that funny balloon - which pepsi absolutely hates and keeps barking at.

More Exciting News

I was so excited to be asked by Sally-Ann Hancock this week to be a Guest DT for her for a couple of months. I'm a huge fan of Sally-Ann's digi images, they are ideal for colouring with my beloved ProMarkers, and she has helped me out once or twice in the past when I've asked for something specific. So I'm absolutely delighted to be part of her team for a wee while.

I mentioned to Sally-Ann that I needed to make a get well card for a friends little boy who had swine flu, and she came up with Poorly Sam, quick as a flash. So I thought I'd use him for my very first GDT card...

Get Well Soon Mar

As some of you already know, my dear friend and fellow crafter and blogger, Mar had major spinal surgery last week and is now on the long road to recovery. Mar handed the keys of her blog over to me so I can update all her other bloggy buddies on her progress until she is fit enough to get behind her bloggy steering wheel once again. Please feel free to leave a comment for Mar on her blog - all comments will be passed on to her.
So now that I know she has finally received her card, I can share it with the rest of you...

Well, another load of parcels arrived yesterday - all my super goodies from the wonderful Oliver at Emerald Crafts. If you ladies haven't tried this retailer yet then you really should do, the customer service is second to none. I will post pics of all my goodies from there later.

I was quite productive yesterday, as well as doing the CCSR challenge card which I blogged yesterday, I managed to use my circles and swirls tag on a card and also made my very first gorjuss girls card.

Bad Bad Blogger

I've had my wrists slapped yet again for being a bad blogger, but haven't had any time at all really for crafting - so I was waiting until I had something to show.

Have made a good start on the xmas shopping - not had time to make it back to Costco for the dolls house for the girls, but I'm getting there. Got the girls a my little sister and my little cousin doll each from Argos, and something for Scott. And I have quite a few bits for friends and other family.

Graham is offshore for xmas this year so I thought I'd be having a quiet xmas with just myself and the kids. Mum suggested I go to them, but I find it all a bit too much hassle; getting the kids to rush through opening their parcels so that we can all be showered and dressed to drive 30 miles out the road, then have to drive home in the dark when all I want to do is fall asleep in front of cheesey telly with a cup of tea/glass of wine and a huge box of quality street. So we've decided that mum and dad will come here for lunch - yay, I get to put the new dining table to good use! So mum's bought the crackers and is making the trifle and I just have to make the scotch broth and the turkey and trimmings. So I'm quite looking forward to it all.

I have 11 teacher's presents to give this year!! I know, blooming ridiculous isn't it?? Faith has 4 group leaders, Willow has 4 nursery teachers and Scott has 2 teachers and a classroom assistant. I have loads of Bodyshop miniatures, body butters, moisturisers, body lotions etc so I made bonny wee boxes out of a sheet of 12x12 paper each, filled them with tissue and added the wee gifts, so all I need now is some cellophane from the florist to wrap them.

I made a get well card for a friend of mine from ESP who was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer, thankfully things are looking quite good and she is terribly brave. I wanted to incorporate some pink ribbon without it being the actual pink ribbon logo.

I'm waiting for a load of buttons coming from babyhippo on eBay. I think I have a bit of a button fetish - now I just need a trip to IKEA for some storage jars haha. Graham will have heart failure if I let that slip.
